client.

Mounting conditions Mounting in test opening, connecting joints filled with foam and

sealed on both sides by application of elastic sealant

Mounting position The test opening with bottom door edge is positioned close to

the floor, the floor seal operates against the system threshold.

Opening direction To receiving room

Preparation The element was opened and closed repeatedly.

1.3 Representation of the test specimen

The structural details were examined solely on the basis of the characteristics to be classi-

fied. The illustrations are based on unchanged documentation provided by the client.

3 Detailed results

The values of the measured airborne sound reduction index of the tested door are drawn-up

in the diagram of the annexed data sheets as a function of the frequency and are given in a

table.

As per EN ISO 717-1 the weighted sound reduction index Rw and the spectrum adaptation

terms C and Ctr for the frequency range from 100 Hz to 3150 Hz obtained by calculation are

as follows:

Variant 1 (measurement Z70, data sheet 1): Rw (C;Ctr) = 37 (-2;-5) dB

Variant 2 (measurement Z71, data sheet 2): Rw (C;Ctr) = 39 (-2;-4) dB

Variant 3 (measurement Z69, data sheet 3): Rw (C;Ctr) = 43 (-1;-4) dB

4 Instructions for use

4.1 Requirement in Germany

Basis

DIN 4109:1989-11 Schallschutz im Hochbau, Anforderungen und Nachweise

For requirements according to DIN 4109 : 1989-11 (“Eignungsprüfung I”) the weighted sound

reduction index Rw is equivalent to Rw,P. After deduction of 5 dB safety margin the Rw,R value

is given by

Variant 1: Rw,R = 32 dB

Variant 2: Rw,R = 34 dB

Variant 3: Rw,R = 38 dB

4.2 Laminated glass

The sound reduction of laminated glass depends on the temperature of the environment. If

the temperature is lower than the test temperature the sound reduction index may be re-

duced.
