ESConcordia University of Edmonton now offers a dual degrees program, allowing you to gain both a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) degree and a Bachelor of Management degree, from the Mihalcheon School of Management, within a 5-year timespan.

The dual degrees program offers you the unique prospect of graduating with both a business and a chemistry background. This opens up a host of career possibilities. You’ll engage in independent intellectual and creative work, build sought-after transferable skills, and experience an industry-specific internship.

Industry associations and leaders have recognized dual degrees programs as a significant advantage for career advancement and succession planning. Of his early career, one business leader said, “It would have been advantageous to have had a broader background in business management and principles at this point in my career, along with a better understanding of what was of importance to corporate management.”

The Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta (ACPA) is also pleased with the new offering. “The combined degree in Chemistry and Management will give graduates from your program the skills to set up their own businesses, become successful technical entrepreneurs, or compete for science management positions in industry and government,” said a prominent ACPA member.

T Concordia University of Edmonton acknowledges we are located on Treaty 6 territory, and respects the histories, languages, and cultures of Indigenous peoples of Canada, whose presence continue to enrich our vibrant community.

In Fall 2018, we are launching an inclusive centre designed to provide for the needs of Indigenous students . The Indigenous Knowledge and Research Centre (IKRC) connects Indigenous and non-Indigenous students with social and scientific research opportunities. It also allows students to engage in research collaborations with key industry and community partners.

Concordia University of Edmonton is committed to reconciliation that involves recognizing how colonizing structures and relationships impact Indigenous students. Our strategy builds upon initiatives and programs of education, research, outreach, and engagement with an Indigenous focus.

We continue to build and deepen relationships with Indigenous communities, through visits to First Nation communities and collaboration with the Metis Nation of Alberta and the Rupertsland Institute. Our goals and initiatives are guided by our Elders Council, in collaboration with the Indigenous Students’ Council and the Indigenous community.

We believe that introducing students across all programs to Indigenous history, including the impacts of colonization, Indigenous ways of being, and Indigenous culture, will enrich their educational experience.

We are committed to supporting Indigenous students through challenging times and helping them reconnect with their own teachings and practices.

Our Faculty of Education ensures that Canada’s future teachers will nurture and foster forward-thinking and positive educational practices in acknowledging and understanding the contribution of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples.

Concordia’s Financial Aid and Awards department also provides advice on the variety of scholarships and awards available to our Indigenous students.

For support, our Indigenous students can rely on the Indigenous Student Council, as well as supports provided by Student Life and Learning, along with faculty and peers. We are a tight-knit community aimed at ensuring all students succeed at achieving their goals.
