Eversource Reaches Agreement with PUC Staff on
Divestiture and Customer Savings
Yesterday, Eversource filed with the New Hampshire Public Utilities (PUC) a multi-party
agreement that states that the PUC Staff now agrees that the divestiture of Eversource’s
generating assets in New Hampshire is in the public interest.
PUC Staff had previously questioned in their September 2015 testimony whether near-
term divestiture was in the public interest, and challenged the savings estimates
presented on behalf of the settling parties who had signed the comprehensive 2015
restructuring settlement agreement. After conducting an independent analysis, PUC Staff now agrees that
customers will see material savings from the divestiture. More details are available on Eversource.com.
2015: Strong Results, Strong Performance
Performance on key corporate metrics was strong throughout 2015, with seven of eight categories either on or
ahead of target at year end. Reliability and restoration data was the strongest over the three years since the merger,
and safety performance—both on the job and on the road—showed good improvement. A review of 2015
performance is included below. State-by-state results may be found on page 2.
Safety DART and PMVA Rates
In a statistic that is of primary concern to all employees, Eversource was
above target for both DART, or “days away/restricted time,” and Lost Time
injuries in 2015, a 20 percent improvement over 2014 in both areas.
DART, or “days away/restricted time,” looks at the rate of injuries per 100
employees. Through December, the company’s DART rate was 1.21,
ahead of the 1.38 target. Most of the injuries during 2015 were strains
and sprains caused by lifting and pulling activities and slips and falls. The
preventable motor vehicle accident (PMVA) rate measures the number of
preventable accidents that have occurred per one million miles driven.
Eversource's 2015 PMVA rate of 2.30 was ahead of target. Thanks to
employees for keeping Safety First and Always as your focus. All
employees are reminded to strive for zero injuries or incidents every day.
Electric T&D Reliability and Restoration
In two categories that capture the company’s core mission of providing reliable
energy, through year end, overall electric reliability performed in the top
quartile range in our industry, with customers having gone an average of 16.6
months between service interruptions, better than the 14.4 months 2015
target. All three states finished at least 10 percent ahead of their respective
year-end targets in this key metric. Those customers who experienced an
interruption were restored within an average of 98.9 minutes, which is 3
percent ahead of target and a 6 percent improvement from 2014.

Gas Emergency Response
In 2015, the Gas Business Unit responded to emergency response calls within regulatory-required timeframes for
99.1 percent of the calls, right on target.
Customer Service
In 2015, we focused on resolving as many customer issues on the first contact, a key driver of satisfaction. The
percentage of first contact resolution through year end was 65.6 percent, slightly behind the 70.0 percent 2015
target. Internal processes are being improved to increase first call resolution.
Inventory Turns
The "turn rate" for materials used by Eversource’s electric distribution business was slightly ahead of target for the
year at 1.64 turns. Improvement has been seen through several process improvements, better alignment between
organizations to prepare materials for upcoming construction work, and a focus on utilizing inactive materials
before reordering.
Open Class 2 Leaks
Leaks are detected on the gas distribution systems through proactive surveying throughout the year. Keeping on
top of making repairs is essential to maintain reliability and safety. At 120 outstanding Class 2 leaks, we are ahead
of target for 2015, and improved from 165 at year-end 2014.

Company Signs Agreement for Town to Upgrade Trail
Eversource signed a license agreement with
the town of Portland last week that would
allow for the construction of a 2.27-mile multi-
use trail on company land. The land is home
to a historic rail bed that was once used by the
former Air Line Railroad.
The agreement will allow the town to move
forward with improvements needed for the
eventual opening of the recreational trail to
the public. Ellen Angley, Vice President,
Supply Chain, Environmental Affairs and
Property Management, signed the agreement
with Susan Bransfield, First Selectwoman in
the town of Portland. Eversource has been
performing work on the trail recently, taking
down some trees and repairing the rail bed.
Portland hopes to refurbish its section of the
trail and connect with nearly 23 miles of the
Air Line Trail in East Hampton, Colchester,
Hebron and Lebanon.

Eversource Constructs Turtle
Nesting Areas on Rights-of-Way
As part of the company’s access road improvement
program, the Eversource Environmental Affairs
team recently completed construction of two
nesting areas for Eastern Box Turtles on
transmission rights-of-way in Bourne and Halifax.
Eversource’s Matthew Waldrip and Kevin
McCune managed a team of scientists and
contractors who surveyed several locations to find
a suitable site for these nesting areas. The team
worked closely with regulators, including the
Massachusetts Natural Heritage and Endangered
Species Program and local Conservation
Commissions. The nesting areas were developed to
balance our need for access to the rights-of-way to
maintain our facilities and serve our customers
while encouraging turtle nesting at a safe distance
from the access road. It’s the first time that
Eversource has built turtle nesting areas. The company hopes to construct a third turtle nesting area in
Massachusetts this fall.
T&D World to Feature Eversource
Underground Crews
T&D World, a leading publication for the electric utility
industry, will be using Eversource underground crews

be posted on their website. They filmed above and
below the streets of Boston last week with the help of
Kevin Barry, Ben Breen, Shana Loveday, Lou
Mathurin, Steve Milionis, Tim Mahony, Steven
Lee, and Robert Baker, Jr. Stay tuned to Today and

Progress at Springfield’s Union Station
A six-level parking garage to be constructed at Springfield’s train station, a development in advance of the new
MGM casino, is moving forward. The new station will also have 66,000 square feet of commercial space for lease, a
26-bay bus terminal, a completely renovated terminal building and new rail boarding platform. A meeting between
Eversource and the developers will be held next week to discuss the three electric services to be installed. The
project is moving toward an opening in October 2016.

Town Meetings Wrap
Up in New Hampshire
New Hampshire employees in
Nashua, Manchester, Hooksett,
and Rochester convened this
past week to hear from
Eversource executives (including
Vice President, Rates and
Regulatory Requirements
Christine Vaughan, pictured
with employees at Rochester Area Work Center) about our strategies for helping customers be better informed
about the energy landscape, how it factors into their monthly bill, and how they can lower their costs. The town
meetings also provided employees an update on company performance for 2015 as well as business plans for the
new year, and an opportunity to ask questions about issues that are important to day-to-day work responsibilities.
Eversource Helps School
District Go Big and Save Big
Eversource recently presented an energy
efficiency rebate check to the Shaker Regional
School District for the purchase and installation
of numerous energy efficiency measures at the
Belmont elementary, middle, and high schools,
as well as the district office. Eversource Energy
Efficiency Consultant Mark Toussaint worked
with the district and an energy efficiency
contractor on the comprehensive project, that
included LED lighting, HVAC controls, boilers,
transformers, and insulation. It’s expected the
investment will result in more than 287,000
kilowatt hours in savings for the school district.
