ROAD CLOSINGSSecond Street will be closed to traffic from Liberty Street to Center Street at 9:30 am. Both Seconds and Third Streets, from Omar Street to Alder Street, will be closed to all vehicles at 11 am. Traffic needing to bypass Oak-land will be directed to detour along Fourth Street until the parade ends. Center Street will remain open until 12:45 pm. Memorial Drive also will be closed to through traffic from Fourth to Eighth Street. No one will be able to turn onto Fourth Street from Memorial Drive and there will be no access onto Memorial Drive from Fourth to Eighth Streets. Parking along the parade route, which includes parts of Second, Third & Alder streets, is prohibited prior to and during the parade.Please note this major change: when dropping off passengers after you go through the parade, to avoid any accidents, you must drop off your passengers in a parking lot past Lake Street. You cannot stop on the north-bound side of Rt. 219 to drop off passengers. This policy will be strictly enforced this year.

The 2017 Autumn Glory Royalty Court has been selected for the 50th Annual Autumn Glory Festival. This year’s King is Ryan Hebb and the Queen is Alanna Kinney. Garrett Regional Medical Center, a proud affiliate of WVU Medicine, is the title sponsor of the 50th annual Autumn Glory Festival.Ryan is a member of Southern High basketball, cross country, track, and theater. He is involved with Loch Lynn Church and youth group. He works with children on service club basketball teams and is on the honor roll.Alanna participates in Northern Lady Huskies Soccer as a captain, and is a member of the NHS newspaper, journalism club and assists with morning announcements. Alanna recently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award as well as being an honor roll student. Her other passions include piano and golf.The Autumn Glory King & Queen will preside over the Autumn Glory Kick-Off Reception to be held on Wednesday, October 11, and they will be featured in the Autumn Glory Grand Feature Parade on Saturday, October 14. Besides having the honor of representing their home county during the Autumn Glory Festival and at other events, the Royalty Court will receive a monetary contribution towards future educational attainment endeavors.The 50th Annual Autumn Glory Royalty Court sponsors are Byco Enterprises, Inc; Hugh Umbel Companies; and Potomac Edison.The 50th Annual Autumn Glory Festival is October 11 - 15, 2017. Festivities include two large parades, concerts, band competitions, art exhibits, antique & craft shows and much more. Jon Burnett delivers the exclusive AccuWeather forecast weekends on KDKA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA.Jon will be featured in the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce’s Autumn Glory Grand Feature Parade sponsored by First United Bank & Trust at 1 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in downtown Oakland.Jon joined KDKA-TV in September of 1982 as co-host, along with Liz Miles, of “Evening Magazine.” In 1985, his duties expanded to include co-hosting “Pittsburgh 2 Day” with Patrice King Brown. In 1990, he was nominated for Pittsburgh’s “Man of the Year in Communications”, and has been nominated three times for Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards for his work as a weathercaster and feature reporter. In 1984, Jon won a Golden Quill Award, as well as a National PM Magazine Award in the Outstanding Feature category, and in 1996, his hard work in the weather department paid off when he took home an Emmy for Individual Achievement in Weathercasting.A native of Knoxville, TN, Jon attended the University of Tennessee on a four year football scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater. Before joining KDKA-TV, he co-hosted “PM Magazine” at WNGE-TV in Nashville, and prior to that was a weathercaster/feature reporter at stations in Louisville, Ky, and in his hometown.Jon lives in O’Hara Township with his wife, Debbie. They have two grown children, Samantha and Eric. He spends his free time working with several organizations like Make-A-Wish, the Boy Scouts of America and the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Reserve (Jon is an Eagle Scout and Honorary Deputy Sheriff). Whatever time he has left is spent touring the Pittsburgh highways on his motorcycle.
