As part of Heritage Open Days areas of the Cathedral normally closed to the public will be open to visitors: the Cathedral Song School – come and discover its secret chamber and the Cathedral Library located in the Cathedral heights (40 spiral steps to both). Wednesday 5 th Saturday 8 th September 7.30pm ‘Walter & Lenny’. A play which gives a delightful insight into a chance friendship between Walter Hussey, Dean of Chichester (1955 – 1977) and the world famous composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein. A friendship which led to the creation of the Chichester Psalms by Bernstein, first performed in Chichester Cathedral in 1965. Monday 17 th September 2.30pm Cathedral Fellowship get together.
