Una parte di queste terre apparteneva per altroalla nonna paterna di Raffaello Sanzio, IsabectaDe Lominis, madre di Giovanni Santi, e certa è lafrequentazione di questi luoghi da parte del Duca diMontefeltro.L’amore per questi luoghi ha spinto la famigliaBruscoli nel 1993 l’opera di recupero e di restaurocon umiltà e grande pazienza. Dieci anni di lavorihanno riportato alla luce le antiche case colonichedi un borgo che altrimenti sarebbe stato destinatoall’abbandono, privato della sua antica vitalità.All’interno della Tenuta trovano dimora diverserealtà quali l’albergo diffuso Urbino Resort e ilristorante Urbino dei Laghi. All’interno di questovasto spazio incontaminato si trova anche l’aziendaagricola a conduzione biologica che è la consacra-zione di un culto agricolo reiterato da generazionisul territorio di San Giacomo in Foglia, e contemplaun’attività agricola di tipo estensivo e una produzio-ne di vino, olio e miele da colture biologiche. Ultimonato, Urbino Horses, centro per il turismo equestre.La Tenuta ha così ritrovato la sua sobria eleganza,aprendo le porte agli ospiti nell’autunno del 2007.

Dieci anni di lavori hanno riportato alla luce le antiche case coloniche di un borgo che altrimenti sarebbe stato destinato all’abbandono, privato della sua antica vitalità. Un recupero eseguito nella convinzione che l’intervento dell’uomo, se guidato da rispetto e amore per la natura, possa migliorare il paesaggio circostante.

Le opere di bioarchitettura hanno riportato alla luce le strutture originali senza stravolgerne alcun dettaglio e piuttosto evidenziandone le caratteristiche, lasciando che fossero la natura e i vecchi fabbricati a parlare e guidare i lavori.

L’ex borgo contadino ha così ritrovato la sua sobria eleganza, aprendo le porte agli ospiti nell’autunno del 2007. Grazie ad un restauro antecedente è stata riaperta al culto anche l’Abbazia del 1300 dedicata ai Santi Giacomo e Filippo.

IL RESTAUROTHE RESTORATION

Ten years of work have brought to light the ancient houses of a village that otherwise would have been destined to be abandoned, deprived of its former vitality. A recovery run in the belief that human activity, if guided by respect and love of nature, can improve the surrounding landscape.

The works of sustainable architecture have brought to light the original structures without changing any detail and rather highlighting the features, leaving it up to nature and old buildings to speak and guide the work.

The former farming village has thus found its sober elegance again, opening the doors to guests in the fall of 2007. Thanks to a previous restoration, the Abbey dedicated to St. James and Philip was also reopened.

Located in the heart of the Montefeltro area, at the foot of the ideal Renaissance city of Urbino, Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is an amazing combination of nature, culture and wellness. The three hundred and sixty hectares of or-ganic farming within the protected natural reserve “Oasi faunistica de La Badia” are a true example of ar-tistic landscaping. A portion of this land belonged to painter Raffaello Sanzio’ paternal grandmother,Isabecta De Lominis, mother of Giovanni Santi, and there is also evidence that the estate was regularly visited by the Duke of Montefeltro.It was the love for these places that brought the Bruscoli family, in 1993, to start the patient and respectful process of recovery and restoration of the buildings and the surrounding area. After ten years of work, the ancient houses were brought back to light, revealing a village which would have otherwise remained abandoned and de-prived of its ancient vitality.The estate includes different environments and facilities, among them the so called “widespread hotel” Urbino Resort and the restaurant Urbino dei Laghi. Within this vast and unspoiled area, the organic farm is the symbol of the celebration of the long-standing tradition of the agricultural produc-tion of the area of San Giacomo in Foglia. Its extensive agricultural activity includes the production of wine, olive oil and honey from organic crops. The newly-born Urbino Horses riding centre, com-pletes the scene.The estate has thus recovered its understated elegance, and in the fall of 2007 it opened its doors to guests.

All’interno della Tenuta, il Ristorante Urbino dei Laghi è circondato da tre laghi e all’interno ospita 6 querce secolari che attraversano il soffitto contro il cielo.Il Ristorante propone un concetto di pizza di alto livello, come vere e proprie emozioni del gusto completamente “naturali”; fondamentale è infatti la ricerca e l’utilizzo di materie prime che provengono in larga parte dall’azienda agricola all’interno della Tenuta.“Eleonor” è il nome che il nostro Pastry Chef Tomas Morazzini ha dato al suo lievito madre, nato più di 65 anni fa da un impasto di farina ed acqua della Val d’Aosta. Impastato con farine bio del territorio, macinate a pietra naturale, Eleonor viene utilizzato per la nostra pizza e per tutti i prodotti a lunga lievitazione: pane, focacce, panettoni e colombe...Il Ristorante è a disposizione degli ospiti esterni e di aziende alla ricerca di una location unica per eventi privati e cene indimenticabili.

The Urbino dei Laghi Restaurant, also part of the estate, is surrounded by three lakes and it houses 6 centry-old oak trees that grow indoors and through the ceiling.The restaurant proposes a high-level concept of pizza, which will give you a unique “natural tasting” experience , thanks to our research and to the strict selection of the ingredients, most of them coming from the estate farm. “Eleanor” is the name that our Pastry Chef Tomas Morazzini has given to his sourdough, started more than 65 years ago from a mixture of flour and water from the Val d’Aosta region. Kneaded with organic flour from the territory milled in natural stone mills, Eleanor is used for our pizza and for all our long-leavening products: bread, flat bread, Panettone and Colomba, the Italian Christmas and Easter cakes.The restaurant is available also for the public and for companies that need a unique location for their private events and unforgettable dinners.
