Students of Gogte College of Commerce Runner’s up at Ujjwal Inter Collegiate T25 Cricket
tournament organized by Ujjwal Sports Club, Belagavi. 16 teams had participated in the tournament. the final
match was played between RPD Degree College, Belagavi v/s Gogte College of Commerce, Belagavi.

Birth Anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi celebrated in KLS Gogte College of Commerce
Belagavi. Principal Dr. H.H.Veerapur offered pooja and garlanded the photo of Mahatma Gandhi. The function
was organized by NSS/NCC/YRC Department followed by Swach Bharath Activity.

in Cavalcade-18 National Level Management Fest (22 Teams from various states have participated) held on

won 1st Prize in HR, Ms. Madhura Naik won 2

secured 1st place winning the cash prize. Ms. Shreshta Kuryalkar represented the department of Political Science

On the eve of Dr. Radhakrishnan‟s 130th
Birthday Teacher‟s Day was celebrated at Gogte College of commerce
by student council. Principal Dr. H. H. Veerapur, chief guest
for the function speaking on the occasion spoke quoted that
“Teachers play the important role in society and shape the
future of students, play prominent role in nation building”.
A short programme was also organized by NSS wing
and Youth Red Cross Wing on the same occasion.

EVENT : CELEBRATION OF VISHWA SADBHAVANA DAY

Vishwa Sadbhavana Day was celebrated in Gogte college of commerce, Belagavi in association with
NSS unit and Youth Red Cross Wing of college on 20th
Aug 2018.
On this occasion Dr. D.B.Kamkar was the chief guest of the function Prof H.G.Naik Vice Principal was the
president of the function. Dr. D.B.Kamkar spoke about the importance of youth and good behaviour.
Our Vice Principal Prof. H.G.Naik gave presidential remarks and advised students to be honest and polite with
each other.
Prof. A.R. Neeralkeri NSS programme officer gave information about the importance of NSS. Requested
students to involve in social work. Dr. M. L. Lamani Officer of Red Cross wing gave information about RED
Cross Wing, asked Students to donate Blood and also adviced students to maintain good health.
On this occasion Prof Manjunath S.K. administered the oath of Sadbhavan to all the NSS and youth red cross
volunteers.
EVENT : INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION REPORT – 2018

Independence Day Celebration was held in Gogte College of Commerce on 15th
August, 2018 at 8.30 am.
The function commenced with Guard of Honor By NCC cadets and NSS volunteers, Prof. P.T. Pattanshetti
Former Principal of GCC invited as Chief Guest and hoisted the flag. While addressing the gathering, he
advised the students to contribute in the field of social activities and inspired the students with his motivated
words.
Principal Dr. H H Veerapur welcomed the gathering and briefly introduced the Chief Guest.
Patriotic song by Ms. Anjali & group Ms. Mathura & Mr. Amol Kalburgi expressed their views on the
occasion.
Prof. Deepa Tangankar proposed the vote of thanks on the occasion. Ms. Divya & Sampada were
anchoring the function.

Marking the importance of Guru Poornima saplings were planted in the college premises on 27th
July
2018. Dr. H. H.Veerapur, the principal speaking on the occasion highlighted the importance and need of trees.

Inauguration of Gymkhana and College Union function was organized in Gogte College of Commerce on
26th
July, 2018.
Dr. P.S. Halyal, Rtd. Professor and former Chairman, Dept. of Psychology, KUD was the Chief Guest,
Shri. Ashok Menshi, Chartered Accountant was the Guest of Honour. Shri. V.M. Deshpande, Chairman, the
Governing Council on Gogte College of Commerce was President for the function.
Dr. P.S. Halyal addressing the students narrated the importance of the sports and asked the students to
take care of 3 things like Career, Contribution to the nation and to set their goals of life as per their interests
during Under Graduation Courses. Speaking on these aspects sir suggested to choose the career which would
make them and their family happy, he also stressed on not to think what nation has given instead focus on what
can you contribute to the nation and these are achieved only when you have great dedication and commitment
towards your goals.
Shri. Ashok Menshi, Chartered Accountant, the Guest of honour quoted that Gymkhana and College
Union activities is a platform to showcase the talent not only in sports but also in cultural and extracurricular
activities.
Shri. V.M. Deshpande in his presidential remarks briefed about the tradition of Gogte College of
Commerce in imparting quality education in the field of Commerce and the glory of possessing most number of
University Blues and ranks. Sir advised the students to continue the tradition in the future too.
Dr. H.H. Veerapur, Principal Gogte College of Commerce welcomed and highlighted the achievements
of the college having secured 173 ranks to its credit since its inception.
Students of Council members took oath in presence of the gathering. Physical Education director Prof.
Manjunath D. Gouda narrated the oath to the student council members.
The function was organized by the department of Gymkhana and College Union Co-ordinator Prof S.B.
Bendigeri. Prof. Neha Jamnani and Prof. Pooja Shirsangi were the master of ceremony of the function. Prof.

EVENT : INDUCTION PROGRAMME

An Induction Programme was organized for B.Com 1st Semester students at KLS Gogte College of
Commerce on 13th
July 2018. Dr. D.C. Rajappa, Police Commissioner of Belagavi was Chief Guest for the
function. Speaking on this occasion sir briefed about importance of time by narrating a quote “The importance
of one year is best known to a failure students, value of a month is known to a mother who gives birth to
premature baby, a value of week is known to an editor of a weekly magazine, a value of day is known to a
person born on Feb. 29th
, a value of hour is known to person who misses the train, a value of a minute is known
to a person who survives from accident, a value of a second is known to an athlete who misses the gold medal.”
Sir recalled his old memories of college days on this occasion and advised the students to overcome fear
in their life. Dr. H.H. Veerapur, Principal Gogte College of Commerce was the president for the function. In his
presidential remarks sir briefed about the benefits given to the students in the college and wished all the best for
their future endeavor.
The function was organized by Prof. S.B. Bendigeri and his team. Prof. Manjunath Kumbargoppa gave
a PPT presentation providing the insights of GCC to the B.com 1st year students. Prof. Neha Jamnani &

EVENT : TRAFFIC AWARENESS PROGRAMME

Traffic Awareness Programme was organized in Gogte College of Commerce under IQAC on 13th
July
„2018. Shri K.C.Lakshminarayan ACP, [Traffic] was the chief guest, briefed and advised the students to follow
traffic rules in their day to day life.
The Principal, Dr.H.H.Veerapur was the President on the occasion, Prof. Gyamanaik H, IQAC Co-
ordinator organized the function. All the staff members and students were present in large number.

He has done research on “Pricing of Indian Creative Paintings; A study of Painting Market in Mumbai
City” under the guidance Dr. S S Masali.
In the month of Sept 2017,Prof. Datta Kamakar participated in International Painting Exhibition which
was held in the Gallary of Light at Mall of Emirates Dubai
Prof. Datta Kamakar is awarded as „Inspiration 2017‟ in the field of painting and poetry by APH
Belagavi.

Republic Day celebrated in the college, Prof. V N Joshi retired principal of R L Law college and Our

Martyr‟s day observed in the college on 30th

on this occasion District level Extempore speech competition was conducted and Principal Dr H H
Veerapur welcomed the gathering.
Ms Sejjal Pasari honoured with 4 gold medals in RCUB convocation for her first rank to RCU which was
held at VTU on 31st Jan 2018.

To inculcate Soft Skills and Communication Skills among the students to compete in the corporate world
successfully , The Dept of English under IQAC organised a workshop on “Soft Skills & Communication

EVENT : CULTURAL ACTIVITIES REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2017-18
We incubate and pave the way for the hidden talents, our students are known for excellence and have been
hoisted the college flag at the top with their splendid performances in arts and cultural events and shone the
golden cupola of our college living a grand legacy for the upcoming students generations every year.
Our innovative and promethean cultural department makes available the platform to artistic, cultural skills and
talents of our budding youths with career making opportunities.
1.Under the banner of College Union &Cultural activities RENNAISANCE an in-house fest organized in the
college on 9th
to 12th
Aug 2017,many students participated.
2. Our students won first prize in Case Writing Competition which was organized by KLS GIT on 13th
Oct
2017. Around 24 teams participated from Karnataka,Maharastra and Goa.
3. The cultural team of our college bagged third prize in Golden Voice of Belagavi Inter Collegiate Singing
Competition held on 5th
Nov 2017. Organized by Lokamanya Multipurpose Cooperative Society Belagavi ,the
team has won 15000/-cash prize,and our KLS Management also awarded with additional 15000/- to the winning
team in the Pratibha Purskar function.
4. Ms Shreya Deshapande won third prize in Yuva Gandharva (Search of new singing talents) orgnised by
Yuva Karnataka Abhivridhi Sangh Belagavi held on 4th
Nov 2017.on the eve of Kannada Rajyotsava,and she
also won first prize in Star of Munavalli
5. Our students won General Championship second time in a row in RCU Zonal Youth fest which was held at
Maratha Mandal College Belagavi on 17th
&18 Jan 2018.
6. As a tradition our students won General Championship in UMANG Youth fest since its inception, which
was held on 21st to 23
rd Jan 2018.
7. Mr.Rishab Bang(Debate), Ms.Komal Acharya (Solo Dance) and Ms. Shreya Deshpande(Solo Singing)
qualified for the finals in the Cultural events in Satish Sugars Award 2018.
8. Vinayak Rachannavar won first prize in Photography in Srujan fest at GSS college, YUVA fest at KLEs
CBALC(BBA) and KLS Vasantrao Potdar polytechnic college belagavi.
9. Our students won as many prizes in SANSKRITI fest organized by KLS VPP on 21st and 22
nd Mar 2018.
10. Mr Anoop Huddar won second prize in Solo Instrumental at AURA fest conducted by KLS GIT belagavi
and he also won second prize in Battle of Band in Jain College Fest.
ACHIEVEMENTS
1. As a matter of pride our student Ms Meghana Nagaraj has been selected as an Anchor and Mentor in the
“Chinnari Muttugalu” Reality show which was organized by SSV TV channel.
2. Ms Bhagyshree Kulkarni awarded the Guinness world record for Solo Bharatanatyam held at Kolhapur.
3. Ms komal Acharya invited as a Choreographer and Judge by St Josephs Convent high school, People Tree
and KLS GIT Colleges.
4. Our past out Ms Sneha Hegde perusing Master of Music in Mumbai.
EVENT : INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA
DATE : 21st June 2018
International Yoga Day was celebrated in Gogte College of Commerce Belagavi on 21st June 2018.
Speaking on this occasion Principal Dr.H.H.Veerapur briefed about importance and advantages of yoga. On the
eve of International Yoga Day, Prof Vaibhav Ambekar and Physical Director Manjunath Gouda gave
demonstration of various yoga asanas on this occasion. Principal Dr.H.H.Veerapur and all the staff members and
students were participated in large number and got benefited from this event.
EVENT : WORLD BOOK DAY

The World Book Day was celebrated at KLS Gogte College of Commerce, Belagavi on 23rd
April, 2018.
Prof. Manjunath S. Kumbargoppa Department of English welcomed the gathering. On the occasion the portrait
of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan . Father of Library Science in India was garlanded.
Speaking on the occasion Sri. Nivas Mhalunge the chief librarian Gogte College of Commerce, Belagavi
briefed on the importance & objectives of the “World Book day”, Dr. Datta Kamakar highlighted the role of
books in teachers & students life, further he mentioned that books are the “agents” & “messengers” of the ages
of mankind.
Prof. Gyama Naik H. in his presidential remarks advised the students & teaching community to inculcate
& imbibe the reading habits to enhance their knowledge Prof. Nilesh Kale proposed the vote of thanks, staff &
students were present on this occasion.
The program was created a sense of Reading habits & Awareness among the Students & Teachers.
EVENT : PRATIBHA PURASKAR REPORT
DATE : 11th
April 2018
KLS Gogte College of Commerce organized “Pratibha Puraskar” programme on 11th
April 2018. This
function was to felicitate the meritorious students and students who have secured ranks and also completed
professional exams like IPCE [Both groups]/CA Final/ CS Executive [Both Groups]/CA Professional /CMA
students. Our college is delighted to say that it has 3 ranks and 5 gold medals in different subjects to RCU,
Belagavi.
The welcome speech was conveyed by the Principal Dr. H. H. Veerapur. We had Documentary Video on
the process of Pratibha Puraskar which was presented by Prof. Manjunath Kale, introduction of Chief Guest was
given by Prof. Sneha Joshi and President‟s indroduction was conveyed by the Prof. Roopali Kulkarni. The Chief
Guest for this function was Dr. Rangraj Vanadurg Registrar [Evaluation] Rani Channamma University,
Belagavi. Dr. Rangraj Vanadurg addressed the students and spoke regarding academic skills of our students,
encouraged more number of students to excel in their examination and also reported that maximum first class
results of B.Com under RCU are from Gogte College girl students, Sir also spoke about importance of teacher on
this occasion. Presidential remarks were conveyed by Shri. V. M. Deshpande, Chairman GC on GCC.
In this Pratibha Puraskar function the rank holders to the university, top 20‟s and subject wise toppers in
individual subjects of all the semesters were felicitated by awarding trophies and certificates. Programme
concluded by vote of thanks by Prof. Ashwini Naik.

EVENT : MARTYR’S DAY 2018

KLS Gogte College of Commerce, Belagavi conducted Martyrs Day Extempore Speech Competition on 30th
January, 2018 at 11.00 am. Principal Dr. H. H. Veerapur welcomed the gathering. Chief Guest Shri. Gangappa
Malagi spoke on the history of freedom struggle and his association with Mahatma Gandhi. Guest of Honour
Shri. Subhash Kulkarni advised the students about how to be organized and deliver the contents in front of
audience. Prof. Savita Khanapure introduced the Chief Guest. Rules of the competition were announced by Prof.
Vrushali Patil. Prof. Sejal R. Bagi, Prof. Roopali Kulkarni and Prof. Ashwini Naik organized the event. 26
Students from different colleges participated in the competition. Ms. Deepali Kulkarni won first prize in the
competition. The remaining three prizes were won by Ms. Megha Marihalkar, Ms. Pavitra Pillai and Mr.
Manjunath Shet respectively. Prof. Ashwini Naik proposed the vote of thanks.
EVENT : COLLEGE UNION REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2016-17
1. Student council for the academic year 2016-17 was formed on 2nd

& Mrs. Priyanka Choudhari were selected as General Secretary and ladies representative respectively.

conducted from 9th

Independence Day.To witness the fortnight
programme of “Azadi 70” The dept of languages conducted Quiz, Essay writing and Extempore
competition for Bcom students on the theme “Indian Freedom Struggle” to celebrate Azadi 70, Hobby
Club had organized Photography, Flower Arrangement, Greeting Card making competitions, Shree
Mallappa D Karegar RTD Dafedar of GCC hoisted the flag as chief guest, Principal Dr. M.G. Hiremath
précised over the function and staff members and students were present on the occasion.

5. A special guest lecture was organized on the topic of “suicide prevention & Stress Management”
on 19th
Sept 2016 Dr. Saraswati Tenagi Psychatrist BIMS Belagavi delivered a lecture on Suicide
Prevention & Dr. Spoorti Patanshetty Asst. Prof. BIMS Belgavi deleivered a lecture on stress
management,Principal Dr. M.G. Hiremath precided over the function.

Republic Day was celebrated in the campus Freedom fighter Shri Gangadhar Kamat hoisted
the flag as a chief guest & Shri Subhash Kulkarni was invited as guest of honor & Vice Principal
Dr. S.S. Aralelimath presided over the function and other staff members, NCC cadets, NSS
volunteers, students were present on the occasion.
7. Martyrs Day observed in our college on 30th
Jan 2017, Shri Appanna Karalingannavar addressed
the gathering as the chief guest & Shri Subhash Kulkarni was the Guest of honor. On this
occasion district level Extempore speech competition was conducted. and Dr. H.H Veerapur
presided over the function.
8. The Dept of Physical Education and Sports organized a UGC sponsored National Workshop
titled” Sports Injuries, their Treatment Modalities, Sports Massgage, Taping and Strapping and
CPR on 25th

Feb 2017.Dr.Sundar Raj Aras,Dean Education &Director of Physical
Education &Sports Bangalore University addressed the gathering and Shri Vasant Horatti,
Chairman,Oxpord Group of Institutions Hubli invited as Guest of Honor
During the inauguration the professionals in the field of Physical Education and Sports were
felicitated for their achievements and contributions and the workshop sessions were conducted by
renowned experts and. total of 61 participants from throughout the state attended. Sports Director
Prof. Ashwin R. was the organizing secretary and Dr. S.S. Arlelimath, the convener of the
Workshop and Principal Dr. M.G. Hiremath was the Chairman.
9. To encourage artistic skills among the students, Hobby Club had organized Candle Art, Jewellary
Making, Glass Painting, Paper Art, Fruit carving and Instrumental Playing competitions on 18th March 2017
for all students.
10. To have interaction between Parents,Students and Teachers Parent Teachers Association meeting was
orgnised in the college on 19th
March 2017.Vice Principal Dr Smt S S Aralelimath addressed the gathering by
speaking about 360‟ Development of students and parents gave valuable suggestions. Principal Dr.M G Hiremath
satisfactorily answered the queries of parents and Coordinator of PTA prof Gyamanaik H proposed vote of thanks.
11. Indian and foreign language forum has organized a guest lecture on “Learning a Foreign Language”-French
on 31/3 2017. Dr.Sushma Patnekar was invited as guest speaker on the occasion and Prof Namita Shetye was the
co-ordinator.
12. Dept of English organized a guest lecture by Dr S V Biradar on the Play „ Silence” The Court is in Session
written by Vijay Tendulkar
13.Under the banner of „MEMORABILIA‟ to honor the rank holders‟ PRATIBHA PURASKAR‟was was held
on 24th
April 2017on this occasion Smt.Radhika G,. Deputy Commissioner of Police Law and Order Belagavi
City was invited as chief guest and Dr.Purushottam Bhang Director KLS IMER Belagavi was invited as Guest of
Honor and Principal Dr.M G Hiremath briefed about the „Pratibha Puraskar‟ on the occasion.

Our students have done phenomenal achievements in cultural events by winning four general championships
in and outside Belgaum.
1. The team of cultural events have won General Championship in Rani Channamma University ZONAL
YOUTH FESTIVAL held at Arts and Commerce College Khanapur on 26th
