Working Around the World for MSF
Event created by: Brighton and Sussex Medical School FoMSF - [email protected]
Time and date of the event: 19:00, early Feb 2009
Aims of the event
- The event involved two speakers who has worked for MSF in Africa and India, one as a doctor and
one as a midwife. They spoke of their experiences and answered questions at the end.
- The aim was to allow students to see what it might be like working for MSF, and to give an insight
into how one might go on to work for MSF.
- A large aim was advertising the event to both medical students and non-medical students. By having
a midwifery student on the committee we were able to easily target other audiences.

from the audience.

- We sent round a clipboard with a member sign up sheet for the society during the talk.
Tips/precautions
- Early organisation is needed as things often take longer than expected and various problems come
up.
- For example we lost our original venue a few weeks before the event which involved some panicked
arrangements!
