FEI ECS IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY

The ECS was implemented in North America in 2009 at 34 events . Scores were obtained using a field collection method and shared with organizers. Many organizers made changes to enhance their events. A few chose to drop out of the North American program

Events were scored on a variety of aspects important to all shareholders of the sport – competitors, owners, sponsors, media, fans, organizers. “Scorecards” were provided to organizers along with notes on suggested changes

In 2012, the original ECS system gained acceptance and was refined into a more user friendly system to be implemented worldwide. In 2013, four European events were tested. Criteria were revised and recommendations made to integrate into existing (and automated) Officials Reporting
