M anchester is one of the UK’s most exciting, vibrant and forward thinking cities. Widely recognised as the most

significant commercial centre outside of London, it is at the forefront of the Northern Powerhouse movement and has an extremely talented and highly respected business community.

M2B seeks to be a positive, innovative and supportive Christian influence within the midst of its city centre business community which enables its professionals to explore God’s call on their lives and the relevance of faith to their work.

Our vision is to see increasing numbers of Manchester’s professionals developing a faith that is utterly relevant to their daily lives, inspiring and equipping them to make a truly transformative and vibrant contribution to their workplaces and the wider business community.

Our activities are focussed on three main areas:

• Engaging – building supportive relationships with local professionals and business leaders and providing assistance where possible with some of the key issues they face on a day to day basis.

• Encouraging – people to make a difference through their work and help Christians see their faith as integral to their professional lives.

• Exploring – creating accessible opportunities for people to investigate the bigger questions of life and consider the dynamic connection between God, faith and their work.

Lessons from their lives will help build confidence in your ability to reach your goals, even in the

most adverse circumstances!Book your place online at: www.m2bpolarexplorers. eventbrite.co.uk Mon 11th November: Our Finest Hour – Leadership Lessons From Winston ChurchillChurchill is widely revered as one of the greatest leaders of all time. We all know what good workplace relationships feel like – perhaps with a good supplier, our favourite customers or an excellent leadership team. Communication is clear, misunderstandings are dealt with positively, teams are loyal and pull in the same direction.

We also know poor working relationships make doing business hard work. They divert energy and creativity, and generally mean we get less done with more stress.

What if you were able to move more of your business relationships into the ‘good’ category?

Tools now exist to pinpoint the blockages between groups of people in the workplace. This understanding makes the intentional building of strong relationship possible within or between

teams. Maintaining relationship becomes a focused activity that makes a real impact on the quality of work produced.

Join Richard Gedge and Tim Young, founders of organisational relationship specialists Renuma, in this Workwise seminar which explores how making relationships central to your work can be a win-win strategy for you and your organisation.

What To Expect:

• Unpacking real-life organisational case studies through a relational lens.

• An Opportunity to examine the relational component of some of your ‘hard to crack’ problems.

• Developing relational solutions to some of those business issues.

• Q & A time with Richard and Tim

When: Wednesday 6th May, 6pm – 7.30pm

One of the unspoken fears of successful people is to lose everything: reputation, wealth, work, family and friends. Jonathan Aitken’s political career came to a crashing end when he lied on oath in a libel action and served a seven month prison sentence in 1999. Not only did he lose his reputation, work and family but there was little public sympathy for a politician who was getting what he deserved.

In this open and candid talk Jonathan will share the lessons he’s learned from his very public fall from power. We’ll hear about his experience in prison and how it profoundly changed him as he discovered the forgiveness of God and the reality of a fresh start in life.

Topping the list of 2,000 people in the recently published study “Who Is Bigger?” Jesus Christ continues to inspire, intrigue and infuriate people across the world. Writer and scholar C.S Lewis once said: “Christianity is a statement which, if false, is of no importance, and, if true, of infinite importance. The one thing it cannot be is moderately important.” Yet many people in the UK today would say Christianity isn’t even moderately important to them, it’s just irrelevant.

In this lunchtime talk, Rico Tice will offer some reasons why Christianity makes sense of who we are and what we do.

A 2012 survey by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, found that 71% of UK graduates would rather work for a business with strong ethical values. Ethics affects everything we do. All the time, in our work, in our relationships and in society, we make decisions about what’s right and wrong. But what is the real basis for those decisions, and does it really matter?
