The grand Expo will begin on November 5 and concludes on November 15 at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboi khongnangkhong, in Imphal West. To keep the surroundings and all routes leading to the Manipur Trade and Expo Centre is also important for drawing attention of the visitors and with objective to attract visitors Minister for Textiles , Commerce & Industry , Thongam Biswajit Singh today kick start a social service campaign at Naoremthong. The Minister himself joined the Social Service. He lead other volunteers in cleaning the route from Naoremthong, DC Office Junction, Imphal , the routes leading to the venue at Manipur Trade and Expo Countdown begins for MANITEX- 2019: 15 stalls from foreign countries and 56 from different states of India will take part - Bishwajit Centre, Lamboi khongnangkhong. Talking to reporters Minister Bishwajit said that it is very necessary to maintain cleanliness for bringing development in the society. He asserted that politician alone cannot bring changes in the State, there is need for responsibilities for all in bringing development in our Society. Minister maintain that handloom is second livelihood next to agriculture in our State and every household either in valley and hill owns loom. Manitex is being organised since last year with an aim and objective to showcase all the quality textile products of our State in international level and to promote our weavers and artisans. Minister Biswajit also highlighted the importance of youth in bringing a new India. He also informed that 12 international countries and 56 stalls from different states of India are going to participate in this year Manitex. Ahead of Manitex 2019 , Directorate of Handlooms& Textiles is organising the social service to maintain cleanliness along the route leading to the venue at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboi khongnangkhong. And the social service is being organised to seek the cooperation and support of public in general and weavers and artisans in particular. The Manitex Social Service flagged off function was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West, N. Prabin Singh, Director, Handloom and Textiles Lamlee Kamei and officials of the Directorate. More than 300 volunteers including weavers, entrepreneurs, fashion designers, local clubs and NGOs participated the Manitex Social Service. IT News Imphal, Nov. 3 On Saturday, Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam visited Budhimanjuri High School, Uripok to personally find out if the students are happy or not to the introduction of the ‘No School Bag Day’. The Minister then interacted with the students about their hobbies and interests. During the visits, students were found practicing arts and crafts with teachers. The students were making traditional banana leaf bowl (dona), plates and houses design from paper. The students later gathered at the school ground recited poems and sang songs. The Minister advised the teachers to encourage the students to make them Education minister Th. The students – teacher relationship need to be made friendlier so that the students could approach the teachers anytime when they need. The students should be taught to maintain neatness to instill in them a sense of work culture and cleanliness in school and their surroundings. The Minister said that No School Bag Day policy aims in building positive culture amongst children, providing platform for innovative ideas and to reduce the stress and harmful effects of carrying heavy bags by the young children. The No School Bag Day policy is implemented by the Department of Education(S), Manipur for the students from class I – VIII to attend school without school bags on all working Saturdays. No School Bag Day is being implemented in school with efforts to add various extra and co-curricular activities to make it a more structured and purposeful in manner. The ministerial team comprises Director, Education (S), Th. Kirankumar Singh, concerned officials and ZEOs also inspected infrastructure of the school. 3 BSF injured in powerful blast at Tellipati IT News Imphal, Nov 3 Three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel sustained injuries in a powerful blast at Telipati in Imphal East district at around 11.30 pm. The injured BSF personnel are identified as ASI Lalkumar (54), Koram Mahindra and Santram, 23 of 108 BSF. They were immediately rushed to JNIMS and were out of danger. Police rushed in to enquire into the incident. Large numbers of security personnel and police were on duty in the area as security has been beefed up following unrest in the state in the wake of talks between the government and Naga militants. Senior police officials today inspected the area and a probe has started into the incident. It was not yet known who was responsible for the blast. Biren Singh today evening. A source said that following the ultimatum sets by the COCOMI to the Chief Minister and other representative of political parties to put the content of the agreement Chief Ministers invites COCOMI’s leaders to consult over their ultimatum signed on Oct 31 between the NSCN –IM, NNPGs and the government of India in public domain, the representatives of the civil body were reportedly called for talk. Earlier, the Chief Minister had appealed the civil body not to dictate the government. He said that no agreement has been signed for the final settlement and the central government had also assured to consult all stakeholders and the government of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh before the signing peace deal. Deputy Chief Minister Y. Joykumar also appealed the COCOMI to withdraw their stand as central government has given commitment to state government as well as to the delegation of all political parties representatives. It cannot be confirmed as whether the representative of COCOMI will meet the Chief Minister today evening as per the invitation or not. However, talking to this journalist Co Covenor of the COCOMI Jitendra Ningomba said that the people of the state had to remain alert until the final settlement is brought between the government of India and the NSCN-IM. He said that the government of India should now let the people know about the final agreement reached between them on October 31. As the content of the agreement is still concealed from the public domain, there still looms apprehension to the people of the state about the safety of the Manipur state while solving the issue of the NSCN-IM. He said the government of Manipur should stand with the people of the state and act as per the desire of the people. It may be mentioned that the COCOMI had on Novemebr 1 sets ultimatum to the representatives of the political party to place the agreement in public domain by November 4. The organisation threaten serious agitation if they failed to do so. However, the COCOMI still is yet to announce the mode of agitation that they plan.
