Learning Today for Tomorrow’s Community
WE VALUE RESPECT, PERSEVERANCE, PROBLEM SOLVING
From the Principal Student Feedback
Things we like about school:
My friends are here, I also enjoy learning, so school is the best place for me!
Learning because it can be fun and challenging
Working together, playing together
Learning new things
Meeting new teachers, working with teachers & SSOs
Using my imagination
Becoming smarter
More understanding of what I am learning
Children also enjoyed all learning areas including: Literacy, Science, Maths, Health & PE,
Japanese language & culture, Technology, The Arts, Choir, Library, Positive Education and
learning about mindfulness and calming down skills.
Invacuation / Evacuation Practice
At regular intervals the school will practise emergency invacuation and evacuation proce-
dures. This week we had an invacuation drill on Wednesday which proceeded very
smoothly and allowed us to make minor changes to our procedures.
Fees/School Card Reminder
If you have outstanding school fees please pay them as soon as possible. Unpaid fees are
forwarded to the debt collector if no arrangements have been made. If you are eligible

May Reading Challenge
Dear Parents,
This year we will be participating in the Woolworths
Earn & Learn program. Through this program we will be
able to get new educational resources for our school.
All we need you to do is shop for your groceries at
Woolworths.
From Wednesday 15th July to Tuesday 8th September,
we are collecting Woolworths Earn & Learn Stick-
ers. You will get one Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker
for every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco and gift
cards). Place the Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker onto
a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet and when it’s
complete, the Sticker Sheet can be dropped into the
Collection Box here at the school or at your local Wool-
worths.
At the end of the promotion, we’ll be able to get some
great new equipment. The range is extensive and offers
lots of items ideal for our students – including re-
sources for Maths, English, Science and some fantastic
fun supplies for Arts & Craft, Sport and for our library.
If you’d like to know more visit woolworths.com.au/
earnandlearn.
Could you please ensure that your child has correct
school Dress Code including winter tops. They are avail-
able at the front office. (Green/Gold Polo Shirt &
Green Jacket/Jumper).

Term 3 Fundraising
Next week students will be coming home with a Billy G
Cookie Dough order form. This is to help fundraise for
the school.
Please support this fundraiser as all funds raised will
go to additional resources and equipment for the stu-
dents.
Greater Gawler Partnership Performance Review
All Site Leaders from the Greater Gawler Partnership attended a Performance Review on Wednesday 17th
June at DECD Hindmarsh from 8.45 to 12.30pm. Tony Harrison, Chief Executive Department of Education
and Child Development (DECD) has instigated annual Partnerships Performance reviews for all partnerships
across the state. Our review panel consisted of Tony Harrison, Kathryn Bruggemann, Ross Treadwell and
Anne Milliard.
The Core purpose of the review was
Using data to identify where outcomes are improving, static or declining
Articulating why these changes are taking place
Identifying where we need to do things differently to deliver better outcomes for students
The DECD Business Intelligence team presented site leaders with Australia’s 2012 PISA results and dis-
cussed where DECD and our Greater Gawler Partnership fit in relation to Australian and International re-
sults. Site Leaders were then asked questions relating to the data, with a focus on Numeracy and Literacy,
about their sites or sites they were co-located with.
Discussion included a focus on increasing
The proportion demonstrating the expected achievement
The number of year 3 higher bands students
The number who keep their higher bands from year3
Attendance
The Partnership will receive a report from the panel with recommendations that the partnership leaders
will need to implement to achieve improvement which we will discuss at next year’s review.
