My opening sequence ‘The Teen Break’ does not challenge real media products as I have included the typical conventions that you would see in a teen comedy.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
![Page 8: Evaluation - Vedant Desai](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022081715/546fc10eaf7959cc168b45aa/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)

Setting/Location
My opening sequence has two main locations, School and Street. I decided this location because this are common convention of teen comedy. This also help me construct storyline.

There are few convention that I have used in my opening sequence: School setting Fast Pace Editing Rock / fast beat music Bright lighting
Teen Comedy Convention I used
![Page 17: Evaluation - Vedant Desai](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022081715/546fc10eaf7959cc168b45aa/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
I decided not to use this convention: Voiceover: based on the script of my opening
sequence, there was no need of voice over in my opening sequence. Even though this is convention of teen films but its not that important.
Slow music: this does not fit in my chosen genera. Slow music are often used in horror movies to built tension, which is not something my opening sequence has.
Convention I did not use
![Page 18: Evaluation - Vedant Desai](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022081715/546fc10eaf7959cc168b45aa/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)

My opening sequence has a common stereotype of “ASIAN TEEN”. Stereotypes: Very Intelligent Formal Clothing Subvert Stereotypes: Stingy With Money Nerd Female – Intelligent (Scores higher) Formal Clothing Very athletic
