Demographics…

Gender:Both genders (however attractive slightly more to females; I put this down to being female myself)

Social Class:E/D as most will be students. Some may have a part time job though.

Ethnicity:White/Caucasian

Age:Mid Teens – Young Adults

Genre…

“Contemporary”

“Popular”Wikipedia

Stereotypically known to be influenced and flow trends at that age

Typically at that age they will be going out and partying

They stereotypically don’t have money to go to live performances

Typically they use a lot of technology

Stereotypically they are more interested in trends than developments/ news

Images…

Mid Shot: This gives the audience a look at her facial expressions which is very relaxed and lets you see her make up. The teenage females will be interested in her appearance and all genders will find her expression welcoming.

Edit: The smaller image of the boy and his shadows was edited like that to introduce a new colour on the contents page. Even though I wanted it to be minimal

Model: She is White/ Caucasian as it will be easier for them to relate stereotypically. Also, she's of a similar age to the audience so its easier to relate to.

Models… The model who was the featured artist conforms well to the stereotypes of my magazines music genre. Her clothes are on trend and her make up is current. However, I subverted by not using the stereotypical vibrant colours as wanted the magazine to look more sophisticated. Also, I personally think times are changing and more neutral/monochrome colours are becoming the contemporary colours.

The models race is White/Caucasian. I chose this to conform to the stereotype of the music genre as most artist in this genre are White/Caucasian.

Cover Lines…Puff/Pug

Skyline

This was something to hook my target audience as they don’t have a lot money meaning they will be interested in winning tickets they may not be able to afford.

Enigma / Informal LanguageThis was to create a sense of mystery as the reader won’t know who its about. Also, its to interest the audience who stereotypically use this informal word choice.

Trends / BrandingAs my target audience are mainstreamers who are easily influenced they will want to know what is on trend and what to like. Also, the use of Spotify is something they will know and can relate to.

HookMy target audience will want to be of (what they believe is the minority) who know the most recent and up to date tracks. They will also want to read into what they are.

Social Networking Terminology

The use of the hashtag was to connect with my target audience and make the magazine modern.

My target audience will be mainstreamers who like to follow the crowd and they will want to be reading the “most popular” magazine similar to their peers.

Double Page Spread…The way I have constructed the interview (through a game) makes it something new and different that my audience will have never seen before and will be intrigued to read on. By labelling the interview a “One Of A Kind” it gives a sense of exclusivity which attract my readers who will want to think they are getting special attention they can then go and tell others either through social networking or in real life about.

Through having the article with a “Number 1 artist” it’s attracting fans of hers to read the magazine. This is emphasised by quotes such as “I’d love to do a tour” as the fans will want to find out more and will look for this in the article.

Marketing Campaigns…

Advertise with other companies that they use regularly/ enjoy.

By promoting though brands and companies CMM’s target audience stereotypically like we are aiming directly at them.

Marketing Campaigns…

Promote via social networking

By promoting through social networking (which is something typically CMM’s target readers use) we are attracting both our target audience and other who use social networking but however don’t fin into are target audience but still enjoy the magazine.

Marketing Campaigns…

Promote through music based organisations

By promoting though music based organisations we are making sure are attracting musically interested people.
