Reem Front Cover

The image that I have used on my front cover represents my genre very well. It creates every element of the pop genre that I wanted the reader to inherit.

The costume worn by the artist is very fashionable and the people of the pop world can relate to it. The artist which is used for my front cover will attract my target audience because he is wearing fashionable clothing and has a stylish haircut.

The artist used on my magazine is of a young age and so therefore my target audience can relate to him as my target audience are of a young age.

The artist is holding an acoustic guitar , this represents the pop genre and my target audience can relate to it as they themselves could play a guitar.

For this image I used a mid shot. The mid shot shows what the artist is wearing and the instrument he is holding. The reader can see what costume and what instrument is used.

My Double Page Spread

The image used on my double spread is an image of a pop band. The pop band used on my double page represent the pop genre very well as they are all wearing fashionable clothes and shoes.

The band also represent a pop band well because they are all together and smiling showing that they are band and have a good bond between them.

The pop genre is meant to give off a positive vibe and the image used on my double page spread gives of a positive vibe because they are giving a fan a guitar and they are all smiling with her.

The image used on my contents page is an image of a famous pop artist who is having a picture with a fan.The artist Tom Evans is wearing fashionable clothes which the readers can relate to as they are what young people wear. The clothes he is wearing represent my genre because my genre pop which represents fashion and happiness.

The artist also has a stylish haircut which the reader can relate to because the reader themselves could have a similar haircut or find the haircut attractive.

The artist in the image is smiling showing that he is happy to be with the lucky fan and represents the pop genre because he’s showing happiness.

When comparing the image on my front cover with the one on a successful top of the pops magazine I can immediately see that they are similar. For example the artist on my magazine is pulling a cheeky face similar to Britney spears. Neither of the artists look angry because that doesn't’t represent the pop genre well.

The shot types are different, on my front cover a wide shot is used whereas on the top of the pop magazine a close up I used. The shot types are different however both show the artists face and emotions. Both shots represent the pop genre well because neither of the artist’s look angry, they look excited.When comparing the image on my front cover with the one on a successful top of the pops magazine I can see that both artists are wearing fashionable clothes which relate to the genre of pop music. For example Britney spears is wearing pink clothes which represents love and the artist on my magazine is wearing a blue shirt with his collar up. The blue shows happiness and the collar up shows his rebelliousness

When comparing the double page spread of my magazine with the image used on the double page spread of a successful top of the pops magazine. When comparing the two I can see that both images are of pop bands both of which include men and women.

By comparing the images I can see that my image represents the pop genre well because it is very similar to one of a popular pop magazine. My bands consists of young teenagers of whom are all wearing fashionable clothes which the represent the pop genre well and the target audience can relate to them.The shot types used in these images are similar. Both images use wide shots to clearly the show all members of the band and what they are wearing. The shot types help make the images represent the pop genre because the wide shot shows exactly what they are wearing and their facial expressions.

When comparing the image on the contents page of my magazine to one on a top of the pops magazine I can see that are reasonably similar. Both images use wide shots to clearly show the reader who’s in the image.

Both images represent the pop genre well because they are of happy young teens that are smiling. The target audience of my magazine will be able to relate to the image of the artist and the fan because the artist has fashionable clothes and a stylish hair cut.

The image of Justin Bieber , Corey and Kellan is similar to the image on my magazine because they also have stylish hair cuts.

The image used on my contents page represents the pop genre and the people of the pop world because the artist is both happy and smiling. Also wearing clothes which the target audience can relate to and may also wear similar clothes.

The language used on my contents page represents the pop genre well because it is formal and positive. The magazine talks to the reader with a happy, positive vibe. The use of vocabulary on my front cover is both simple and positive. The simple vocabulary is used because my target audience is of younger teens, not older people. The words such as ‘love’ and ‘great’ give off positive vibes which represent the pop genre and people related with the pop genre because the pop genre is all about happiness and living life with joy.

The vocabulary used is simple and the reader can associate with it as the words used are small , however powerful. For example ‘love’ ‘madness’

Reem Front Cover Colours

The colours used on my front cover consist of blue and pink. Both these colours represent the pop genre and the people associated with pop music because they both connote happiness and joy. The target audience can relate to the colours because they represent feelings which are associated with young pop loving teens.

The colours used on my Double Page Spread consist of pink and black. I used these colours because they are eye catching and represent my genre. The colours represent the people associated with my magazine as pink is a positive happy colour.

The colours used on contents page also stick with the house style of my pop magazine. (pink and blue) the blue and pink colours used represent the people of my pop magazine because both colours represent happiness and love.
