1. The design of the Internet Portal is modern

This evaluation report consists of a feedback from a total of 10 project partners from 4

different countries: Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and Spain.

The first question refers to the design of the Internet Portal and whether it is modern.

The design of the website is about the visual design, in this case, the project’s Internet

Portal. The visual design decides whether it catches the interest of visitors. It has to be

kept in mind, however, that the content of a website has a stronger influence on the

visitors and their decision to browse through the information than simply from the „looks

of it“.

Nevertheless, a proper visual design uses the right amount of color, corporate Design,

interfaces and graphics, which helps promote the website, in this case, the Internet

Portal.

The graph shows that 80% of the replies agree to the design of the Internet Portal as

being modern whereas only 20 % disagree to it. Here is how the first page of the

Internet Portal looks like:

2. The design of the Internet Portal is appealing and inviting

The aesthetics of a website, in this case, the Internet Portal of the project, are a

decisive factor for engaging users online. What is surprising is how quickly these users

decide whether they like a site or not. In fact, it takes no more than a split second (50

to 500 milliseconds) for users to form an opinion about a website (Harvard 20131).

Thus meaning that the colors, fonts, pictures, graphics, complexity, usability, clarity

and consistency of the Internet Portal are components which decide over a visually

appealing web design.

The second topic of the questionnaire refers to the design of the Internet Portal as

being appealing and inviting.

80% of the project partners agree on the design of the Internet Portal as being

appealing and inviting for themselves but also for other visitors. Solely 20% disagree

on this matter. Here is a further example of the Internet Portal:

3. The Internet Portal is user-friendly and self-explanatory

When it comes to a good website, in this case the Internet Portal, the main goals and

assets are for it to be kept simple, both in the design and also in the usage. The user-

friendliness refers to the navigation, which has to be straigthforward and created based

on how users will interact with it. This also influences how usable and trustworthy the

Internet Portal is.

The navigation has to be intuitive, to make it easier for users to comprehend how the

system works and how to get from point A to point B. A clear structure can help users

in finding their aim.

The third and fourth questions refer to how the project partners perceive the Internet

Portal in being user-friendly and self-explanatory.

Regarding the user-friendliness of the Internet Portal, a total of 100%, meaning that

all project partners agree on this. (see Graph above)

When asked about, whether they agree on the Internet Portal as being self-

explanatory, 90% of the project partners agree to it, whereas merely 10% are

centrefold.

4. Sections „Youth“, „Counsellors“ and „E Guidance Training“

The Internet Portal consists of three main areas, which are depicted as „Youth“,

„Counsellors“ and „E Guidance Training“.

The area for youth, being one target group in this project, is designed to present the

project, its aims and its products to young people and young professionals by having

a basic introduction, which addresses young people directly. Furthermore there is an

introductive video, which has been conducted with young people from different

countries to have a shared opinion on the topic of international youth mobility.

Additionally, young people and young professionals have the possibility to contact the

counsellors, who are involved in this project, to be able to receive proper guidance and

counselling in the field of international mobility.

As for the question, whether this section has been well implemented, 70% of the project

partners agree to it, whereas 30% don’t share this agreement. The results can be seen

in the graph below:

The second area, „Counsellors“, has been developed to explain the project, its aims

and products to the target group of guidance and career counsellors all over Europe

(EURES, Euroguidance, national, regional and local).

The area, is designed to present the project, its aims and its products to all types of

counsellors by having a basic introduction, which addresses consellors directly.

Furthermore there is an introductive video, which has been conducted with counsellors

from different countries to have a shared opinion on the topic of international youth

mobility.

Additionally, counsellors have the possibility to leave their contact details on the

Internet Portal to be reached by young people and young professionals in search of

guidance and counselling towards international mobility.

The graph below depicts that 50% of the project partners share both an agreement as

well as a disagreement towards the implementation of this section. This is a topic

where an improvement will have to take place, according to the feedback of the project

partners.

The third area, „E Guidance Training“, has been developed to present the European

Career Guidance Concept, including its Methodology adapted to the main content

areas of international youth mobility. Additionally, the concept has been created and

sub-divided into autodidactic E-Learning tools and programmes to allow the main

target groups of counsellor to learn and train the concept on their own.

This area has been designed in the form of a smart, autodidactic e-Learning

programme with interactive exercises and quizzes.

The self-learning-programme addresses individual users who want to get through the

basic methodological structure and the essentials of area knowledge individually and

in a self-directed way.

Furthermore, this area offers exemplary training and counselling session in the virtual

area to share and exchange the knowledge gathered through the self-learning

programme and the advanced training methods.

The graph below depicts the response to the question whether the section „E Guidance

Training“ has been well implemented. All project partners agree, with a result of an

accumulated 100%, that this section has been well implemented.

5. E-Learning tools are well designed and the E-Learning elements

are didactical

These questions refer to the design and the didactical development of the E-Learning

Tools within the area of „E Guidance Training“ on the Internet Portal.

E-Learning tools are designed to facilitate learning and improving performance by

using different technological resources and programmes, like in the picture below:

Page 13: Evaluation Report E-Learning Internet Portal · The Internet Portal has been designed as an interactive e-Learning online portal for European vocational education and professional

The question of these tools being well designed refers to the didactical mix of creating

different tools, such as animation videos, podcasts, counselling videos in different

virtual classrooms, interactive exercises, gap texts and quizzes, which show a broad

variety of learning options.

Furthermore, the videos have been designed to break down the European Career

Guidance Concept in practical and exemplary virtual dialogues to depict not only the

essence of European counselling for international mobility but also to adapt this

concept to an innovative process of virtual counselling in virtual classrooms.

When asked about the design of the E-Learning tools, 90% of the project partners

agreed on it being well implemented, whereas 10% are centrefold, which can be seen

in the graph below:

Whether E-Learning tools are didactical or not, depends on the methods of learning

introduced. In this Internet Portal, the didactic method of the E-Learning tools follow a

consistent approach to engage the mind of the counsellor/visitor, who decides to go

through these tools.

The theory behind these E-Learning tools is that those, who want to learn by

themselves, on their topic of interest, are free to choose which tools to use. It has to

be kept in mind, that eventhough every tool can be done separately, there is a

consistency in following the entire E-Learning programme from the beginning until the

end.

Page 14: Evaluation Report E-Learning Internet Portal · The Internet Portal has been designed as an interactive e-Learning online portal for European vocational education and professional

These E-Learning tools and programmes produce an alternative online education and

knowledge delivery that offers educational and learning experiences, for all types of

visitors and counsellors, who are interested in the European Career Guidance Concept

for International Youth Mobility.

When asked about the didactical elements, 90% of the project partners agreed on it,

whereas 10% are centrefold, which can be seen in the graph below:

6. Animation, podcasts, videos, exercises and quizzes are well

implemented

The usage of animation, podcasts, videos, exercises and quizzes on the Internet Portal

are to mix the entertainment of the users but also to combine a different usage of

multimedia tools with didactical elements. This way, narration and explanation achieve

the same goal as mere texts and presentations by not overloading the user but instead

letting him decide between different alternatives.

The question of whether the animation, podcasts and videos are well implemented,

90% of the project partners agreed on it, whereas 10% are centrefold, which can be
