Canon DSLR

The Canon DSLR camera allowed me to produce good quality products

Most of my shots were filmed at night, which means I had to have the correct lighting for my images to stand out. The camera flash enabled my artist to stand out, because of this it enables the audience to see the artist and to make the image look presentable.

Panasonic Video Camera & Sony HVR-HD

I used the Panasonic video camera throughout my video, along with some shots on the Sony HVR-HD. As I was changing cameras, I had to make sure all the framing was the same, which enabled me to show continuity throughout my product. The Sony HVR-HD allowed me to have night vision on the camera which gives the green effect on the video.

Tripod Dolly Tracking

The equipment I used allowed me to have smooth and professional shots, however, when using the dolly I had to make sure my surfaces were flat, so I couldn’t use the dolly when I was filming in the woods and on the grass.

Lighting

Lighting was very important whilst filming for my music video, as it is crucial that the shots weren't dark and blurry. Lighting enabled me to create emphasis on the actress which looks professional and presentable. Different lighting can shape the ways the audience respond to a music video. Both the images above of my music video show the 2 different lighting techniques I used. The image on the left are car headlights which enabled my to highlight the actress. The image on the right are professional lighting at a theatre where multiple lights were beaming on my actress. These lights had a blue filter from lots of different angles, which makes my actress look like she is performing on a real stage and looks very professional as it enhances all aspects of the shot, for example the costume and makeup.

My Music Video

Smoke MachineThe smoke machine creates a specific atmosphere and allows my music video to look professional. Personally, I thought with the correct lighting and the impact of the smoke machine the shots would look impressive and striking. However, because of some of my locations it wasn’t possible in every shot. Below shows an example from my music video where the lighting and the smoke machine worked well together to show professionalism
