How much did you enjoy the short film?

For this question we have asked the audience to rate of how much they think we did in term of delivering our main message through our short film. The purpose of this question was for us to be able to justify on our narrative.

From looking at the result, there are 50% of people rated as ‘5 or excellent’; this implies that the use of Todorov theory is really effective. However, since there is 13% of our responders rate it to ‘3, average’ this suggests that there are certain elements that which needs to be improve. For instance one of our audience of aged 13 stated that ‘Should have more dialogue’, This highlight that our audience at young age would prefer to have dialogue to make it more understandable. I think this is really concerning because as we are 5years older than our audience, we tend to missed understand and overlooked at our young age interpretation.

Additionally, later on in my questionnaire we have asked ‘What message did you received from the short film’; the overall answers are stated about education. This qualitative question has proved that our message behind the short film is in a high standard.

The reason of why we asked this question is because we would like to see how effective we are able to entertain our audience. As our short film is for education purposes we would like to also include the sense of entertainment to it because we want people whom has watch our short film to be enjoyable as well as gaining encouragement.

The result that I received was really impressive because 30% rated as 5 and 70% is 4. This implies that our short film are successfully produced because we are able to to meet our purposes such as combining education and entertainment together. Sine our audience are more likely to be enjoying watching the short film; thus may enhance the chance that secondary school students would enjoy the PSHE session

In your opinion how much do you rate the cinematography?

Did the short film grab your attention?

1 2 3 4 5

I personally think that this question is more likely aimed my older age group i.e. media students because they have been educated about the effective of and different used of cinematography for different purposes in their course. Thus this question will access on the use of cinematography skills.

The result of this question is really positive. This may be because we have effectively used the over the shoulder shot and direct address that keep our audience focusing on our short film. Additionally supporting with the previous question: did the short film grab your attention? 85% of our audience rates it as 4, this simply implies that our use of cinematography is really effective that able to grabs the audience attention.

We have used a theme of education to tackle our target audience, to do this we have got teenager casts as well as technologies such as Iphone to relate the characters with target audience; however, we are unsuccessfully in relating the viewers with our characters. This evidently shown from the result.

100% of our responders think that our short film’s content is suitable for their age group. Perhaps because we used education to link our audience together with the short film.
