How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

During the stages of construction and research, planning and evaluation, I have used a variety of new media technologies.

During the editing process we used a program called adobe premiere pro. This program was used to capture the footage and edit it. It enabled us to add effects such as changing colours, adding transitions to different shots to make it flow more and changing speeds and length of shots. I also used this program during the preliminary task. This was to get used to the software and also helped us plan the final piece as we was aware of what was available on the program.

Microsoft PowerPoint has been used

throughout my project, from analysing

texts to the evaluation. I have found the

software very convenient throughout the

project, as it is simple to use but has also

made my project more effective by adding

a variety of software to it.

During my research I used YouTube quite frequently. This was to watch existing music

videos by Taylor Swift, or songs from a similar genre. This was helpful as it helped me analyse

an effective music video, and helped me understand typical codes and conventions

used in this particular genre. We also watched existing music videos made by previous A2 students this was helpful as it helped me compare to these products using

my own ideas and was a more realistic way to compare to previous students rather than real

artists as we have similar opportunities.

Cameras and equipment...

For the filming we used a school camera and tri-pod. I found them

very easy to use as we had already had chance to use the cameras and get used to them

during last years project. It was also refreshing on the preliminary

task we did earlier this year.

For the ancillary task, we researched in to different album covers from either Taylor Swift, or artists from the same genre to get an idea of what the audience of

this particular target group are expecting. We decided that we wanted a particular font type for

the front cover therefore spent time on different websites and decided on using a font from a website

called ‘Dafont’ Here is a link below to the website:

http://www.dafont.com/ The two texts shown below are what are used on our

front CD cover. I had never used this website before, however found it

quite easy to work.

Throughout the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages of my project I used a computer,

whether it was using publisher to design my website, or YouTube to carry out research before the video was

made, or various Microsoft programs to carry out my evaluations or completing the ancillary tasks. Throughout

the process of these different stages I have used the computer to help me complete the tasks.
