Time Inc.

• Appeals to a wide audience by having many niche magazines (i.e. Marie Claire and Southern Living)

• Incredibly successful magazine publisher as it has a large range of big named magazines, it is able to get large stars for their covers, for example Marie Claire has Kylie Jenner on the cover this month, NME has it’s own awards show showing how each magazine has a subsidiary to increase profit.

• Publishes NME, UNCUT • I don’t think Time Inc. would be suitable to publish IRM as its aimed at a similar

audience and is the same genre as NME, making them unlikely to choose to publish it.

Bauer Media Group

• Musically, Q and Kerrang! Are Bauers major music publications.• Q specializes in indie, rock and alternative music, perhaps making Bauer an

unsuitable choice to publish IRM as they have a similar audience. Q has its own radio and TV, and holds annual music awards in the UK called the Q awards.

• Kerrang! Is a rock music brand, it teams also with radio and TV.

Immediate Media Company

• Was BBC Publishing's until 2011.• Publishes magazines focusing on TV, Sport, Crafts, Science and more, but very few

music magazines.• BBC Music, BBC Top of the pops magazine and Girl Talk are the only magazines music

genre based that Immediate media co publish, meaning it has a gap in their audience for an indie rock genre magazine like IRM.
