QUESTION 3What have you learned from audience

feedback?

Page 2: Evaluation Question 3 - (CB)

Throughout this project we have received various forms of

feedback which have helped us to create the best product

we possibly can.

We received feedback on our

• Pitch

• Storyboard

• Rough cut

• Final cut

Pitch Feedback

Our pitch was in the form of a Prezi and included some of

our starting ideas. This is some of the feedback we

received.

• The film seems to sound like an Art House film with a niche audience.

• It is a good idea for the genre.

• Good use of red (visual style)

• Seems to be more of an Auteur film.

• Good use of expressionism.

• A good use of setting and props for the idea as they are low budget

and easy to come across.

Target Audience

From this feedback we changed our idea on trying to aim this film at a

wider audience.

The comment on looking like an art house film we started to look at

more unconventional / artistic films which suits the art house /

independent film making style. One of these films was ‘Don’t Look Now’

which inspired a lot of our shots and Mise en scene.

Storyboard Feedback

From our storyboard feedback we had positive feedback

including a good plot and good mise en scene.

However we received feedback on that there was no

danger for our main character. Therefore, this narrative

issue would ultimately create an anti-climatic and boring

experience for the audience.

Narrative

Therefore, we changed the ending of our storyboard to show that the

psychiatrist is working against the protagonist. This added an enigma of will

Jordan find out that he is being worked against. Therefore, this makes the

film more interesting for the audience as it adds questions to the trailer.

Rough Cut Feedback

From our rough cut we received a good amount of feedback. This

is the feedback we received.

• Good framing/ cinematography

• Good soundtrack

• Good visual style

• A clear narrative

• We could improve the voice-over to make it clearer.

• We need to explain the purpose of the video diary shot

Page 8: Evaluation Question 3 - (CB)

Voiceover

• From this feedback we re-recorded our voiceover. We did this to

make the voiceover clearer to help the audiences understanding.

• From this feedback we also added a voiceover at the beginning to

explain the purpose of the opening shot. We used this voiceover to

explain Jordan is recording a video diary.

Visual Effects

We also tidied up the red in the shots in our trailer. We did

this in the last shot of our trailer as some of the red was

appearing in the background. We corrected this by

adjusting the colour masks.

End Titles

Instead of having the last small clip between the titles at the end of our

trailer we added more titles. To do this we looked at existing trailers to

gain inspiration. We then added these titles for a more conventional

and professional ending to our trailer.

Final Cut Feedback

For our final cut

feedback we created

our own survey using

Survey monkey. We

received about 5

pieces of feedback

for our final cut.

Final Cut Feedback

From this

feedback it

shows that

everyone

thought that

our trailer was

excellent.

Page 13: Evaluation Question 3 - (CB)

Final Cut Feedback

This also shows

that everyone

liked our poster

and magazine

cover. Therefore,

I feel that no

changes need to

be made to our

products.
