What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

We researched many different film institutions to decide who would distribute our film. We researched what other films they had distributed, particularly horror films, and how successful these films had been.

Some of the institutions we looked in to included:Lionsgate (films such as The Hunger Games, The Cabin In The Woods, The Haunting In Connecticut etc)20th Century Fox (films such as Avatar, Alien, The Fly etc)Universal (films such as Ted, Psycho, Frankenstein etc)Paramount (films such as Titanic, Paranormal Activity, Friday The 13th etc)Film 4 (films such as Slumdog Millionaire, Shaun Of The Dead, 127 Hours etc)

In the end, we decided on Paramount. We chose Paramount as they're a big, well known institution which will help to get our film more well known. They're a very successful institution as well and have distributed many well known films. We considered using a more horror focused institution, such as Twisted Pictures but then decided against this.
