What kind of media institutions might distribute your media product and why?

Where might your magazine be distributed?My magazine would be distributed where there are any relations to music and books. I am specifically going to distribute my magazine at stores like WH Smiths, local book and magazine stores and corner shops. The reason for this would be that youngsters go there the most and if they see this magazine they would want to buy it. The price of the magazine is also affordable for them to buy. I am also going to distribute my magazine at open studio’s where people go and record there music.

How frequently will the magazine be circulated?The magazine is going to be monthly because most people can’t afford to buy magazines on a weekly basis and especially youngsters because they do not work. The second reason for my magazine to be on a monthly basis is that most hip hop gossip and news does not happen every week, I mean it can happen at any time but there would be no point on releasing a magazine with not much information on it so if it is monthly it can at least have a lot of information on it so the audience like it.

What data have you got on magazine sales in your chosen genre are magazine in your genre selling well?Yes most of the hip hop magazines such as Vibe, XL and NME are selling well. The reason for these 3 company’s to be big is that they are sponsored by famous artists and their fans buy the magazines but its not always the fans that buy it could be a wider audience because nowadays statistics show that most people listen to music and English being one of the main languages they would have to listen to English songs.
