3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Kaleidoscope Film Distribution is an expanding International Sales outfit in London which distributes branded documentaries and special events, along with certain types of genres.

New line cinema Distributes Thrillers, for example new line cinemas distributed Se7en – New Line Cinema produces films that are very different to ours, therefore they would probably not distribute our film either. Their films tend to be comedies and action/adventure films, such as Lord of the Rings and Horrible Bosses. As our film is a psychological thriller, we would need a distributer who has experience of distributing films of this genre.

Newmarket Films are potentially a good distributer for our film as they mainly distribute drama films and have experience in the drama genre. I believe this is a better distribution company or our film as the other companies don’t specifically aim to distribute dramas.

Paramount pictures/universal pictures distributed psycho and Shutter Island; all these films are typical thrillers.
