Stereotypes

My media product follows a stereotype of hip hop music, I have dine this by using A model who is Nigerian, this is because most rappers of hip hop artists are of African decent. I chose to use a female model because lately there has been a rise of female rappers so by using a female model, I am following the trend of female artists being featured in magazines that can be seen on real media products.

Gender & Status

Because I have used a female model, some of the messages the images give could be to do with power, strength and independence, this is backed up by the cover like ‘at the top of her game’. I feel the images represent this because of the pose she is in, the has her arms crossed which makes her look ready and strong whilst her face makes her look sassy and as if she knows she is best which is how a lot of rappers like to brand themselves and is also how they are branded in the media and music.

Class

I feel my magazine will appeal more to middle classed readers, this is because I feel the front cover is very clean and not busy on the eye, Also the colours I have used a quite mellow and easy on the eye where as magazines that are obviously aimed at the lower classes usually include bright yellow writing because there is normally celebrity gossip which the magazine uses to sell the product.
