Evaluation: Question 2

How does your media product reflect particular social

groups?

Page 2: Evaluation question 2

In my magazine, the social group I have reflected are students; college or university. I have represented the students in a sophisticated, laidback manner, challenging the stereotypical opinion that students are ‘care-free party animals’. I took my images of students as medium close ups, editing them to make them more interesting. The front cover of my magazine includes one central image of a student, as I felt that too many images may clutter up the layout, steering away from the educational but laidback aspect. The text to picture ratio of the contents is more or less equal; three pictures reflecting the three sections. The way in which the students are represented in my magazine appeal to the target audience as the magazine is informal, laidback, but also includes informative elements.
