Our thriller opening represented teenagers of the 21st Century.

At the very beginning of the opening, the audience watch two characters, a male and a female, as they get ready to go to a party. Their whole conversation is about the party, so you can feel their excitement as they ask each other questions about what they think the party will be like and who might be there.

The next scene of the opening is the car scene. The previous two characters get into their friend’s car as he is the one driving them. It is this boy’s first car and all three characters are very excited about this. However, whilst in the car, the two main characters start taking drugs with the driver and as a result of this, get high.

Another main character that the audience see in the opening is a person wondering around the dark, silent streets with their hood up. No sound can be heard apart from their footsteps. The character seems to be in a world of their own without a care which may explain why they didn’t realise the car was there before it hit them and tragically “killed” them.

Despite thinking they’ve just killed someone, the characters shockingly still have their mind set on going to the party and put the body into the boot of the car, insisting they all forget about it until the morning and not let it ruin their night because they’ve been looking forward to this party for so long.

Our storyline represents teenagers because in the UK, the use of alcohol and drugs by teenagers is high and continues to increase. This thriller can show the effects of teenagers driving under the influence of drugs and what damage it can cause.
