Evaluation Question 1

Page 2: Evaluation question 1

In what ways does your magazine use, develop or challenge forms and convention of real music?

Page 3: Evaluation question 1

The backbone of a magazine is its cover page, because its shows everything inside the magazine e.g. genre, target audience, whether its good or bad. I did a research in different music magazine to learn how to get things done. I observed the codes and conventions and tried to implement into my work.

Introduction

Page 4: Evaluation question 1

In my cover page I used many codes and conventions from existing music magazines e.g. Masthead, Cover Lines and Main Cover Line. But I challenged the Mode of Direct Address, as compared to many magazines. I designed it according to its genre and target audience e.g. the hoodie which the model is wearing to make it look like hip hop, smoke was made for the genre which should be making it more realistic. The font used in the masthead is selected because its goes with the genre.

I have a used all the codes and conventions of a music magazine e.g. Title of contents page, List of Contents, Sub-images. The background in this page is a “graffiti” which was make it consistent with the genre. The list of contents is made keeping the interests of the audience e.g. boys love to sing, dance, concerts, body building, especially who love to listen hip-hop.

I used codes and conventions for the double-spread page because this I the most challenging part of the magazine which the reader has interest in reading about the artist. I kept the pull quote under the artist’s name which most of the existing music magazine have. I have used the right side of place the picture which is seen in most cases.
