Magazine PostersThis is my own design of the magazine poster, I placed the artist in the centre and made him fill the frame. This shows the artist as a man attraction to the eye of the audience. I edited the color of the image of the artist to make him stand out of the poster. Also the colors used are the same blend of colors used in a digipak another member of the group designed. The background of the poster has a black & white adjustment layer to again make the artist stand out, also the graffiti lines add more abstract to the poster. The graffiti gives off to the viewer a sense of the genre, which is what was the aim. This sells to the target audience (teenagers/young adults) as the artist also sells the genre, the costume seen with the flat peak cap is stereotypically seen in this type of genre (Rap/hip-hop). This particular cap is seen throughout the music video, so the poster link to the video as well. The color of the font links to the colors on the digipak, the white border around the text makes the text more visual and abstract, and links with the white color on the artist.

These posters are designed by another member of the group (Tee). The first one (top left), includes bright colors by using an adjustment layer. The images of girls shows the genre type for the music video also it may be lead that the girls are the artist of the album. The font around the image is very abstract, it is clearly showing the album name and release date. One girl is wearing a flat peak cap which is a recurrence throughout our project, this shows the target audience that this album is for them.

This poster is my favorite poster for our ancillary task. The artist is visible to the audience, and the poster as a whole is very basic but still attracts the audience. The costume used is seen in the music video so the artist is straight away making a link. The type of font used is similar to what was used on the lyrics in the video. The text on the poster looks like it is fitted around the body shape of the artist, he is slightly blended in with the background layer color which I think works well within the poster, as the name of the artists stands out more than he does so the audience knows the name before they know the face.

This digipak was an influence on my own magazine poster. The front cover is close to my design of the poster. The artist is in the center of the frame looking away from the camera, the color used I also linked to the poster. The audience will use this as they will recognize the album from the features of the poster. The mise-en-scene used in this digipak is different on the images, the clothing on the front cover is different to the poster it is not showing any hint of the genre (t-shirts, basic clothing) the artist is seen in a waistcoat and shirt. Although the color splattered on top almost hides that and still keeps the album ‘messy’ and like a rap/hip-hop album.
