Wikipedia

I used Wikipedia to look up definitions, especially at the beginning of the project.

However, this wasn’t that trustworthy as anyone can put anything on there meaning that I might have not been getting correct definitions.

YouTube

YouTube allowed me to research different genres of music videos. This was helpful as I was able to find official music videos from artists and bands.

It allowed me to look at the REM pop up video which helped me understand the fine details that go into a music video.

It allowed us to upload our music video in order to show our target audience which meant we could gather feedback.

Final Cut Pro/Photoshop

Final Cut Pro allowed us to edit our preliminary task and our final music video.

It provided many elements such as filters and tools in order for us to complete our tasks to a high standard.

We used Photoshop to create our digi-pack. This also provide us with the right elements

in order for us to complete a promotional pack which linked in with our music video making it more appealing to our target audience.

Excel/Word

We used Word to create our shot list, model release form and risk assessment.

This meant that we had all the shots we needed in one place, could discuss the risks involved in filming and how to prevent them and also have a signed bit of paper giving us consent.

Word also helped us create a questionnaire to gather feedback from our target audience.

We then used Excel to create pie charts for the answers we got from our feedback. This meant that we could display the information in a more statistical way.

Word also allowed us to create a mindmap when we were planning so that we could brainstorm our ideas before hand.

StoryboardThat

The website StoryboardThat allowed us to create a storyboard for our music video.

We were able to add detail to the board such as settings, characters and text in order to display what we were trying to achieve when constructing our music video.

Camera

We used a Nikon DSLR to record the whole of our preliminary task and the lip-syncing sections within our music video.

This camera provided us with clear footage meaning that we didn’t have to tweak it much in post-production.

We were also able to place the camera on a tripod therefore none of the footage was shaky.

GoPro

The GoPro allowed us to collect footage of places where a camera couldn’t such as underwater.

Due to it being so small we were able to transport it easily therefore we were able to take it to New York, Barcelona, Greece etc.

This added more variety and range to our music video.

Mobile Phone

Due to all of us having quite up to date phones the camera quality was very good meaning that we could film whenever.

Therefore we could take everywhere we went as there was no need for us to set it up.

It also made it easier for us to upload footage of feedback to YouTube as we didn’t need to edit it therefore we could just upload it straight away.
