EVALUATION POST 6

HARDWARE VIDEO CAMERA:

The prioritised hardware for the whole film opening was the video camera. The professional piece of equipment allowed me to film both my opening and preliminary task without any technical difficulties. The camera let us easily access vital footages onto the Mac. I also learnt and applied varieties of camera features: camera angles & camera movement which built my confident in using them for different situations.

TRIPOD: The tripod was key to when we were filming. It allowed the recording to go smoothly; with no interruptions with the steadiness of the camera and the camera stayed at one level throughout the recording. From this I learnt that it is useful to use at you can use to pan key footages and the camera would less likely shake.

IMAC: The MAC was very important also; it was used to edit both the film opening and preliminary task. In addition, Macs are compatible with many professional tools which were vital for our final piece. As I’m use to using the Macs, this gave me the advantage and confidence of editing my film opening.

SOFTWARE

IMOVIE: This piece of software was very useful and simple to use. Although it is easy to use, it is very effective; with its proficiency and variety of tools it made my final piece look professional. This software built my confidence to use difficult additions to my film opening: slow motions, fast-forward and freeze-frame were some of the additions. The only problem was that: the software only runs on Macs and we cannot use it anywhere apart from school. We had to edit during our free lesson or after school.

PHOTOSHOP: This one purpose of use was to create my production logo. This software is the programme to use whilst creating my logo; it contains all the useful tools like cropping pictures and these tools create the perfect image. At first, Photoshop is difficult to use but the more someone uses, the more you get use to it; it made me more confident to improve the final production logo. One disadvantage of this software is: to use it only at school as this software is expensive and we cannot afford to buy it for this one use so we had to do it during our free lessons or during a media lesson.

ONLINE TOOLS GOOGLE:

Google was the most useful online tool; especially for the research of any information. This site is very efficient and it is easy to access other websites or pictures from this site. If I struggled to understand anything like different camera angles, I can simply search it up and Google would give me a reliable answer. The site also has good tips on many things like how to use different types of software.

SLIDESHARE: In order to publish my power point onto my blog, I would use slideshare to publish my PowerPoint. It is easy and efficient; it makes my presentation look more professional. It is easy to embed my PowerPoint onto my blog but it does take time to get use to it.

YOUTUBE: YouTube is very useful. It is also an important piece of tool as I must upload my videos: preliminary task, audience expectation video and my film opening from YouTube in order to put them onto my blog. YouTube is also useful for research of genre, looking at examples of Thriller film opening; I mostly importantly used it to get my music for my film opening.
