Award of the Star Status:: Shall help gain more confidence in
the funding agencies and attract more grants to build the world class research facilities.
Shall help network us with the premier R & D institutes in the country
Shall help to produce the Next Gen leaders to tackle the challenges of 21st century – viz sustainability in food & nutritional security, clean environment,
Reasons for up-gradation to Star College Status
Reasons for up-gradation to Star College Status
Reason Indicator Prospects
3. Socio-political reason
First college in Temperate & Cold arid Himalyan zone
Immediately after its birth in 1984, had to pass through difficulty period of turbulence and strife for 2 decades
Excellent performance in education and research under such difficult circumstances deserve it a Star Status
A United and Developed India demand all regions with equitable development
Grant of Star Status shall:
Help to produce the NG leaders in R & D who shall address the challenges in the hill and mountain agriculture under temperate and cold arid conditions
Bridge the cultural and geographical barriers , and inculcate the local graduates to work in a pluralistic society
