It doesn’t discriminate against any skin colour or age and gender and people who socialise in a mixed friendship group of both male and female can go and see the film as well as enjoying the film. The type of media institution that might distribute our media product is a UK company called Metrodome in the way of microwave scheme who give small British films a chance to be made by giving them £100,000 to make a film in 18 days. Another way in which our product could be distributed is by digital cinema or online streaming movie services. 4. Who would be the audience for your media product?Make detailed notes in here on who you think your target audience is – be more specific than sex and age.

The target audience for our media product would be suited for both male and female with the age certificate of the film being a 15. The specific target audience would be for those that are already interested in the area of genre based on our film which is Thriller; this is because people that are fans of this genre will already be looking out for new films that come out in this genre section. There isn’t a specific sex in which the genre is set on, both males and females suit the viewing of this film and isn’t targeted for one gender which draws in more of an audience due to people in families, friendship groups and relationships can all go watch it and enjoy it.

5. How did you attract/address your audience?Make notes in here on the techniques you used to appeal to your audience and why you think they would be effective.

First as a group we decided upon a font of text that we intended on using for titles, names etc. Based upon the decision made, we chose to have a font that looked most gripping to the eye after

comparing many different ones to ensure that the font we chose was indeed the correct one. After deciding upon the text, we then moved onto looking at a soundtrack for the film and based on a group decision, we decided upon the slowed down version of ‘Heaven’ as we felt it fitted into the film appropriately, the song is seen as being quite a thoughtful song. This track would give the watching audience an indication that the film was going to be quite deep thought and emotional as well as being thrilling, this then gives the audience an accurate idea to what they expect to see when seeing the film.

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?Make sure you cover research, planning and production in this section. What technologies have you used and how did they help?

As a group we used loads of different technologies for the construction of our film. One of the main technologies used being Google, the main reason for using Google being for research into different things within our film. One of these things being analysing different fonts from other film covers to discover a type of font that could fit into our cover like others for people to be able to establish that it’s a thriller before watching. As well as using Google, we used YouTube as one of our source of research; this allowed us to watch various clips from the same genre to be able to compare them to others of the same genre before incorporating our findings into our film piece. We also used YouTube to research a soundtrack for our film, this allowed us to listen to a number of different tracks before selecting one, and we converted the file into an MP3 file.

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?Make notes on how your preliminary task helped you and how it made you aware of what more you would need to master to make your final product.

Looking back at our preliminary task in which we produced, I am now aware of the progress we made as a group in the production of our actual media product. Progress in which I felt we made was the use of cameras, at first in the preliminary task, the shots we created were all very rough and weren’t steady and concentrated like they are in the media product. Whilst, in our media product, we used a tripod to ensure that we could have a steady shot of the action taken place in the shot. This makes sure that the film is to a decent standard unlike the preliminary task which was aimed and produced for use to get a feel of the use of cameras and how they work.
