Firstly I noticed how I improved while using the software, I figured out new features while making my music magazine front cover, for example I learnt how to lap the main image onto the title. I didn’t know how to do this while producing my school magazine cover. This all added to my music magazine looking better and much more eye-catching to my audience

I also learnt how I had to pay attention to detail while producing the music magazine in contract to the school magazine which was produced in a short period of time. For example the fonts I used had to be suitable for my target audience, whereas the school magazine had a mixture of fonts that didn’t really go well together. The colours of the music magazine were chosen carefully as they were requested from my audience research.

My school magazine was not very unique, it had plain colours and fonts and there was nothing that really grabbed the audiences attention. The main image was also not very thought out, I didn’t pay much attention to the background or what the model was wearing. This changed when I took the picture my for music magazine. My contents page layout also wasn’t very thought it. The text is to one side and the pictures to the other.

On my music magazine contents page the layout is a lot better, the images are grouped together with captions that are easily visible in blocks. There is also hardly any gaps on my music magazine contents whereas there is on the school magazine. Another thing that has developed since my preliminary task is what looks good. This meant that I lined up all the page numbers and also the stories, this makes it easier to read and quicker to find the page number.

I feel that I definitely worked harder on my music magazine contents and front cover and I know I put more effort into it as I wanted it to be perfect, so paying attention to the smallest details definitely helped. During the production of my music magazine I worked as…
