Evaluation – preliminary task Introduction: At the start of my A-level course, I was asked to do a preliminary task which showed me including a range of camera shots and technical skills; the following evaluation is of that task. Has a range of shots been used? : I believe in our task, we effectively portrayed a range of shots, and tried to not just shoot everything from one angle or distance. Are the shots appropriate to the narrative? : We tried to use match-on action to highlight specific moments which we felt were important, and we also tried to use shot reverse shot to make narrative shots more interesting Has mise-en-scene been used? : The mise-en-scene in our task was fairly simple, as it was mostly set in a house, and as it was filmed in a house, the mise-en-scene was fairly accurate. Is there evidence of diegetic and non-diegetic sound? : Yes, as we included as voiceover in our task (non-diegetic) and we also used a sound bridge along with the sounds from the filming (diegetic). Does it support the brief? : Yes, although the brief was simple, we stuck to it effectively, and got creative, but stuck to the brief, the only thing I believe we should have considered was the time of our task, as it was slightly longer than we expected.

Evaluation – preliminary task

Introduction: At the start of my A-level course, I was asked to do a preliminary task which showed me including a range of camera shots and technical skills; the following evaluation is of that task.

Has a range of shots been used? :I believe in our task, we effectively portrayed a range of shots, and tried to not just shoot everything from one angle or distance.

Are the shots appropriate to the narrative? :We tried to use match-on action to highlight specific moments which we felt were important, and we also tried to use shot reverse shot to make narrative shots more interesting

Has mise-en-scene been used? :The mise-en-scene in our task was fairly simple, as it was mostly set in a house, and as it was filmed in a house, the mise-en-scene was fairly accurate.

Is there evidence of diegetic and non-diegetic sound? :Yes, as we included as voiceover in our task (non-diegetic) and we also used a sound bridge along with the sounds from the filming (diegetic).

Does it support the brief? :Yes, although the brief was simple, we stuck to it effectively, and got creative, but stuck to the brief, the only thing I believe we should have considered was the time of our task, as it was slightly longer than we expected.

Is there evidence of shot reverse shot, match-on action, and 180 degree rule? :Yes, in our task, there is an exchange between the two characters, this shows proof of our shot reverse shot, and 180 degree rule, only in the getting ready shots, and there is a fair amount of match on actions on certain parts, like doing the buttons

Are they effective and professional? :Yes, character was never broken, focus was always kept, and the camera shots were a high quality.
