WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE MY MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?

Evaluation: Question Three

When I finisheded my production I wasn’t completely satisfied with the results. I hard imagined something else but unfortunately it was impossible for me to do it. However, in my product I used different camera movements and techniques to engage my audience with the movie and to reveal the true nature of my film.During my brainstorming on what my film should be I watched many action movies and the one that caught my eye the most was ‘’Eagle Eye’’ which was made in 2008 and ranked with 6,6 /10 stars. It was distributed by EuropaCorp Distribution and 20th Century Fox. However, another movie also helped me to understand what I really wanted for my opening scene. The movie is called ‘’Hackers’’ made in 1995 , ranked with 6,2 /10 stars and it was distributed by United Artists Media Group. Both films helped me equally to create the narrative of my film. However, I would like ‘’NAIVETY’’ to be distributed by EuropaCorp Distribution and 20th Century Fox.

Why would I prefer EuropaCorp Distribution and 20th Century Fox to EuropaCorp?

I would prefer ‘’NAIVETY’’ to be distributed by 20 Century Fox together with EuropaCorp because I would like my product to work with international film studios. The reason why I wouldn’t choose United Artists Media Group is because it is an American film institution and, in my view, compared to 20 Century Fox it is not as popular. 20 century film brings out a new product every year and that is why it is more popular. Moreover, it is part of the Big Six grup. Studios part of this Group are considered as the most profitable and mostdeveloped studios in Hollywood.

20 Century Fox Film Corporation ? This film studio is an American studio. It is established in Los Angeles, California. Moreover, it is one of the six major American film studios (Big Six). It has distributed many successful movies such as Avatar, Planet of Apes, Fantastic Four and other. How did they made ‘’Eagle Eye’’ a successful movie? ‘’Eagle Eye’’ had a normal for a Hollywood movie production budget – 80 million dollars. In its opening weekend, Eagle Eye grossed $29.1 million in 3,510 theatres in the United States and Canada, reaching the first place position at the box office. As of February 15, 2009, it has grossed $178 million worldwide—$101.4 million in the United States and Canada and $76.6 million in other territories.

Why Europa Corporation ?

EuropaCorp is a French studio. Its headquarters are in Saint-Denis near Paris. Moreover, it is one of the only independent studios which distributes and produces feature films. It was established in 1999 and for 16 years, it has managed to produce and co-produce over 80 films. I would like ‘’NAIVETY’’ to be distributed by this film institution because of its powerful connections around over the world. The studio is mainly known for its expertise in the production of films in English, having a strong position in the international marketplace.
