In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Evaluation: Question One

When my Questionnaire result came out I was 100% sure that I would have to film an Action opening scene. That meant that I had to use different generic conventions. The

generic conventions I used for ‘’NAIVETY’’ were :• Diegetic and non-diegetic sounds• Props like Guns and Clothing • Location – the abounded house and the dark park emphasising a forest• Editing – the scenes fade in slowly

I used diegetic sounds in the background of my second scene. Moreover, I recorded voice of my two characters and I used it in the last scene. I was aiming at making my

audience intrigued and curious about what was to happen . This technique I learnt from Quentin Tarantino.

The most common props I used during the filming are Guns By adding the effects of gun-fire, I hoped to make my project look more realistic.

The dark scene in the woods and the sunny day in the end of my opening scene (which by the way is the beginning of the story) emphasizes the idea for an action movie. I decided to film the second part of my film in the woods because the woods are a

common convention for the action genre such as ‘NAIVETY’..

Editing helped me a lot with the presentation of ‘NAIVETY’. As one can see, my project does not go chronologically. For this decision I was mainly

influenced by Quentin Tarantino who mainly directs action movies. Moreover, I used different effects such as gun fire. I knew that my audience would

appreciate that: an action movie without gun shots is not an action movie.

Moreover , the audience can see what effects I used for my gun shots
