In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real media products?
Props
•Baseball cap •Baggy clothing•Ring •Chain•Microphone •Cars •Speaker
The props that are included in my magazine are as followed:
All of these props are conventional to Hip-Hop Magazines. when comparing my magazine to the XXL magazine I can see that my magazine share The same conventions. I used these props to Make my magazine look professional and Conventional.
freebies
From looking at real magazines I noticed that they often gave out freebie’s with each purchase. So I included a free CD as a freebie so that my magazine could have this conventional aspect. Freebies for magazines are one of the many ways in which companies attract there audience,
Colors
Magazines usually have a minimum Of 3 colors . The colors I used were:
• Blue•Grey •White
I used colors that would stand outI tried to be unique by using the Combination of grey and blue as most Magazines tend to use at least one bright Color for example the bright red on the Vibe Magazine.
Sell lines
A magazine is not a magazine without sell lines. Looking at professional Magazine I came up with Similar sell lines which ii know will Attract my audience. I made my sellLines conventional as they were onThe sides of my magazine cover
Masthead
I tried to make my masthead have aDiamond effect as shown on the XXL magazineWith Birdman and Lil Wayne.I placed the main image in front of themasthead to make my magazine look conventional.
Main image
This is my main image I think this image has Representations of being:
•Strong •Powerful•Successful
I chose to use a black man around the ages of 17-19As they are mostly into Hip-hop
