EVALUATION 4: WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?

Page 2: Evaluation 4

• When I reached my decision for my genre I immediately had an general idea of what would be the kind of people wanting to read my magazine and helped towards what I would need to aim for when it came to the target audience.

• With this all would fall back to Codes of Convention and Social Groups

• Things used in my magazine were based on what the target audience would be to make sure the magazine would appeal to this target audience.

• Given that the age range for my magazine was aimed for 16+ Reaching to the Mid 30s as the highest the audience of my magazine would be.

• With this I aimed the magazine to meet this with the language I used and to keep up with the general life style of this age range, Occupied but has plenty of free time, which I think would be something vital to my audience.

• My audience would want to be able to take time into what they read from a magazine such as mine and is why I would need to show in my magazine to make it meet the expectation of my audience, given that my audience would be succeders and mainstreams yet also aspirers, which I proved to express through the DPS on my magazine with the content given there. Given that the audience is fairly young this would also add to that they are aspirers since they would still have option to explore in their futures and if they were to read my magazine, to be influenced by the artists and content shown in it.

• My magazine would be aimed to both genders though majority of artists are shown to be male. In anyway this would mean having colours that would be ‘gender neutral’ and would also have to work with the design of the magazine.

• The images I have used in my magazine would be have Mise-En-Scene which would also portray what my audience would be wearing.

• The fact that the models in my picture are wearing plain black clothing would show as ‘Strong’ from my research of the psychology of colours and would be what reflects back to the audience reading my magazine, also that the clothing is simple would also support the fact that they are main streamers, keeping it simple and natural is what that would roll under and it what is shown from the images used in my magazine. These brands would be unlabelled as it something that would not be cared for too much though that would be going against mainstreamers as it would be mean not following a trend of clothing. These brands would be something of H&M or Forever 21

• Rolling back to Demographic, Geographic and Psychographic would also help to represent my audience, this could be referred back to Question 2 of the evaluation.

Demographic• The target audience of the Magazine in the demographic

would be for those BC1&2. The target audience would be semi-professional in what they do and be clearly successful. Given this they would have a fair amount of disposable income but most would be spent on activities, event and updating their technology meaning the remaining amount wouldn’t be too high. The audience would vary from College / University Students to Semi – Professional and would lead to having my magazine price being set to £1.00. This would be something that could easily match the price that all ages in my audience would accept .

Geographic

• Given that the audience is young but active would have me place the Geographic to be in London or fairly adjacent aiming at the South East. This would be because the South is viewed as more successful in the UK and where ABC1&2 would mainly come from, this would be also where my target audience would be from. This would also match to artist as well that would be in my magazine and with the lowest of my audience demographic being C2 would be the portion that would be strongly matching the aspirers.
