My Film:

Considering that I have chosen to mix the sci-fi genre with teen drama I would gather that a studio with experience in both genres would be more likely to distribute my film.

These studios include:

20 th Century Fox

20th Century Fox remains as one of the largest American film studios. The studio has a vast amount of experience with a number of genres, including sci-fi and teen drama. Examples of these films include X-Men: First Class, and the upcoming teen drama Paper Towns. These genres all appeal to the ones chosen for my film, making 20th Century Fox a viable option.

Working Title

Working Title is an example of one of Britain’s largest film distributers. They have distributed many genres of film including the genre of my film. Examples of films in which they have distributed include The Worlds End and The Theory of Everything. I believe this studio would be a great choice for my film as they are a British company and are more likely to distribute a British film than an American studio would.

Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures is an American film company that has created hundreds of successful films. The company has had experience in many genres including sci-fi and teen drama, developing films such as Kick-Ass and Scott Pilgrim V.S The World. Due to their broad mix of genres within its films, I think it would be a good choice for my sci-fi film.

Paramount

Paramount is one of the largest grossing film studios in America. They have seen success over a number of genres, including ones that I have selected, and are always experimenting with new ideas. Successful examples of Paramount films include Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Iron Man. Due to their successful mix of genres; I believe that Paramount would be a good choice for my film.

How would I get the Company’s attention?-Considering that my film is low budget, I should consider using free marketing techniques (Twitter, Facebook).-This low budget advertising can be used to create fan pages, upload trailers and keep audiences informed about the film.-I could send my film to a film festival for more attention and some feedback.- I could use positive reviews in order to gain attention from studios, in order to help them feel more comfortable investing in the film.-I would choose Working Title as my studio for the film because of their success across multiple genres and the studio is British means that my film would be more likely distributed there instead of an American company.
