How effective is the combination of your main

product and ancillary texts?

Comical aspects to the videoThere is a huge comical element to our video which is highlighted throughout our coursework. The first two images are images of our digipak, and we decided to add this wacky effect to it in order to keep with the comical tone in our video. This is similar to our video, where we also added in a comical effect throughout in order to maintain consistancy. We also added other shots you can see on the slide showing all the ways we have established a comical tone in our video, through mellow dramatic costumes and characters. A star swipe, and the shadow of a man dancing in the sun are all conventions used to create a happy tone in comical ways.

Radio

The use of the radio is our most important image, and is used the most throughout our coursework task. We have not only used it for our digipak cover, but also throughout our video. This allows us to have a main topic for our video, and it is a big point of advertisement. For example, the X seen on the front of Chris Browns new album is seen in his video of Loyal, in order to use it as a key selling point.

Reoccurring artistsFor our reoccurring artists, we have used four band members that can be seen on the inside left of our digipak. The main guitarist that you can see is also the runner that you can see in the second image. Moreover, we have used two of the band members having a picnic, and the other as the stalker in the scene of night falling, who you can see in in the left of the bottom right image. These four characters are used in our digipak, as they are the band members, highlighting the link between the video and ancillary texts.

Similar shot types

There is also a big similarity between the shots of the radio, as in the print tasks, you can see the radio as the main figure with the blue sky, tree lined background and grass. This is very similar to our video, as we see the radio in the centre of the image with multiple shots of the landscape.
