How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Page 2: evaluation 2

To the left is an image from a real dance style music magazine and to the left is an image I have selected that I think has similarities to the one on the right. Both of these images have almost been taken from a similar angle with the female looking over her left shoulder and you can see their backs. Similar to the real image mine is a close up shot of the female, from just above the elbow to just above the forehead. By using a close up you can clearly see the facial expressions from the females, in the image to the left the female has a cheeky smile and her hair and makeup has been done professionally and she looks as if she is in a club having a good time. Comparable to the real image the female I have chosen to use is pulling a playful face suggesting that she is having fun her hair has been styled and her makeup has all been done as if she is going out to a club. Featured in both of these images the clothes they are wearing are revealing and fashionable attracting the attention from the males and females. Both their images have similar contrasts and tones however the image on the left the lighting is coming from the right hand side creating shadows on her back I have used a simple forced flash. Both of the backgrounds in my images as rather dark so the attention isn’t draw away from the subject of the image as the females are the main content and by using plain backgrounds they don’t distract you. The social group that I am representing are stereotypical teenager and party goers who spend Saturday night in clubs with their friends and enjoy the dance style music that they hear in the clubs.
