NEW DEVELOPMENTS FOR AIRCRAFT INDUSTRY: TEXTILES

•Activation of the textile with plasma technology, for a better uptake of FR-product and for a better adhesion of the FR-product onto the textile using impregnation technology

•Already proven on PA-textiles (FAR 25.853 appendix f part 1)

Why it can be used:

•For better adhesion of the flame retardant product onto the textiles: better wash ability

•To reduce the chemical concentration in a impregnation bath (more environmental friendly)

•To obtain extending flame retardant properties according the FAA-regulations for interiors.

•Polymerization of multifunctional barrier coating with plasma technology

•Fire retardant properties and anti-crazing properties

•Development of scratch resistant multifunctional barrier

Why it can be used:

•The multifunctional barrier should increase the burn-through time (longer time for evacuation)

•The multifunctional barrier should also increase the crazing resistance due to some influences as temperature, UV-radiation, humidity, …

•The coating will also increase the hours of flying: less maintenance is needed
