AIM:„to exchange pesticide groundwater monitoring data andfrequent updates about the focus of national monitoring,and to assist each other in the interpretation of the data.”
RATIONALE:1) Groundwater monitoring data should beincluded in the assessment of leaching risk ofpesticides and their metabolites.
![Page 5: European regulatory network on pesticide …...2) Monitoring data is generated in most European countries, but their use for leaching risk assessment during pesticide authorization](https://reader031.fdocuments.in/reader031/viewer/2022011905/5f33a6c22b4245132b44ec7b/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)

RATIONALE:
2) Monitoring data is generated in most European countries, buttheir use for leaching risk assessment during pesticideauthorization is sometimes difficult due to the followingreasons:i. the data is not often publicaly available or available in an
aggregated form in a report;ii. most often it is available in the national language of the
origin country only, which makes it hard for other countriesto use it;
iii. the interpretation of groundwater monitoring data requiresdetailed knowledge of the local, geological, hydrological andclimatic conditions, and also knowledge about the crops andthe use practice for pesticides;

- Demark to chair the Workgroup,- At present Workgroup is open for persticide risk assessors
(option for later period – to invite representatives fromagencies performing monitoring, and possibly riskmanagers),
- No limitations regarding the number of would-beparticipants from each MS, but one contact person –contact point per country (preferably attendant of themeeting),
- New meeting – autumn 2019, agenda to be prepared byvolunteeres in the interim period;
- Questionnaire to get more information about the GWmonitoring programmes in each MS – to be distributed,collected and processed in the interim period;
