• ‘Heritage’ means a place has inherited and still shows the benefits of history or past events

• ‘Cultural’ means that a place helps visitors appreciate and understand the customs and civilisation of a society, including their literature, art , music and more…

Task• Research the European city of Culture programme to find out

what cities have been given the title in past years, and what cities could be given the title ‘cultural capital’ in the future.

• Select one of the recent cities chosen and investigate why you think the city was nominated. What features appeal to the tourist? Explain the transport routes available to access the city.

• For each year to 2019 the country for the cultural capital has been decided, but the actual city has not. Recommend a city for each year and justify why you think they should receive the award.

• For each, create a 1 page fact sheet on their location, the main attractions available, the facilities and the types of accommodation available.

• You must complete this for homework and hand in next week
