Europe and Russia are part of Eurasia. It is the world’s biggest

landmass.

Europe is a small continent with a big population density. This

measures how many people live in one place.

Russia is the world’s biggest country.

Europe is called a peninsula. A peninsula is a body of land that

has water all around it.

Europe has the Atlantic Ocean and many seas around it.

Europe has FOUR major regions:

Northwestern: In north Europe. Known for farming.

North European Plain: Covers most of Europe. Known for big cities.

Central Uplands: Known for mountains and plateaus.

Alpine Mountain System: Known for the Alps mountains – the highest mountains in the system.

Water is very important to the people in Europe and Russia.

Rivers and lakes give them water and transportation.

Many of the rivers and streams come from the Alps.

The Alps are a source of water for many people.
