mean?

• women whose lives are currently endangered by pregnancy.

• women currently at risk from genital mutilation, or subject to forced pregnancy, sterilization or abortion

• the right of all people, regardless of race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family position, age, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status, to equal access to information, education and services related to development, and to sexual and

reproductive health

• the right of all clients of sexual and reproductive health care information, education and services

• all persons against any marriage entered into without the full, free and informed consent of both partners

• the right of all persons to reproductive health care services which offer the widest possible range of safe, effective and acceptable methods of fertility regulation, and are accessible, affordable, acceptable and convenient to all users

• to protect the right of all persons to the highest possible quality of health care, and the right to be free from traditional practices which are harmful to health

• to protect children, women and men from all forms of sexual violence, exploitation and abuse

Main Purpose and Mission

•To advocate the inclusion of SRHR in national and international policies and overseas development aid and to mobilise resources for SRHR

•To Raise awareness of the ICPD Programme of Action, the MDGs and the role of sexual and reproductive health

•To hold our national governments accountable

Responsibilities of

National

Governments

• Develop policies and programs to guarantee universal access to reproductive health by 2015

• Incorporate reproductive health services into national-level development plans

• Allocate sufficient resources

• Develop accountability mechanisms

• Monitor implementation at the national level and evaluate progress

Aims

• To provide an informal forum for the exchange of ideas, information and experience

• To provide opportunities to explore possibilities for multi-lateral and bi-lateral collaboration and co-operation, particularly advocacy initiatives

• To develop joint projects and/or consortia by individual groupings of the • EuroNGOs members

• To provide opportunities for dialogue between NGOs and donors/potential donors

• To support members who do have very scarce resources with funding for advocacy activities

• To disseminate relevant advocacy letters and statements

Membership•The Membership is meant to promote

ownership of the work across the European NGOs. It works as a forum where issues can be debated and prioritised. It meets once a year.

• It elects the Steering Committee

• It takes formal decisions such as approval of the annual workplan and the annual report, acceptance of new members, etc.

• It develops joint initiatives with members and other networks and forms consortia

EuroNGOs membership

• At the moment, there are:

• 27 full members

• 7 associated members

• 2 observers (IPPF and UNFPA)

• They are representing hundreds of organizations, associations and other voluntary groups at local, regional, national and European level
