It was lovely to see all of our returning students last Wednesday morning after our holiday break. I enjoyed listening to all of our students’ holiday adventures. Some of them have certainly grown a lot over the holidays. A very special welcome to our new students in Years One to Six; Riley, Maddison, Blake, Cruz, Bronx and Jax who started last week. It was also lovely to welcome back Max and Maddison and to also welcome our fantastic Kindergarten students who started last Thursday. Annabelle, Harper, Natasha, Lilly, Leo, Levi, Ben and William have all settled into their classroom and are doing a fantastic job. We also welcome new staff to Eungai Public School this year. Ms Melinda Low teaches K/1L and Ms Jodi Lennox will be supporting K/1L as an SLSO on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. This year we are introducing a new program called Sound Waves. S ound Waves is a whole- school synthetic phonics and word study program. It uses a sound-to-letter strategy which acknowledges that sounds can be represented in more than one way in written form. Teachers will discuss this new program during Parent Information sessions on Tuesday 25 th and Wednesday 26 th February. Don’t forget to come tomorrow morning to our annual P & C Welcome Breakfast. This is a complimentary breakfast that is hosted by the P & C every year for all staff, students, parents and EPS community members. Breakfast will be served from 8:30am. Welcome back to School.

Please come and join the P&C, staff and community members at our Welcome Breakfast tomorrow morning at 8.30am.

We are asking for volunteers for our Canteen which will be open on Fridays commencing 7 February.

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Dear Parents and Carers,
