Who are the EU citizens?
Any person who is a citizen of a member state of the European Union is also an EU citizen.
Each EU country has different nationality laws.
If you are a multiple citizen and one of your citizenships is European you are an EU citizen as well.
If you lose your citizenship you also lose your EU citizenship.

The right of free movement and residence throughout the Union and the right to work in any position.
Right to consular protection
The right to protection by the diplomatic or consular authorities of other Member States when in a non-EU Member State, if there are no diplomatic or consular authorities from the citizen's own state:this is due to the fact that not all member states maintain embassies in every country in the world (16 countries have only one embassy from an EU state).
