What is Terrorism?

Terrorism: systematic use of violence as ameans of coercion for political purposes

Terrorism has brought war to our doorsteps;

nothing is sacrosanct anymoreJust about every part of the world has been hitby some form of terrorist attack since 1930

Few of the well known examples of terroristattacks are 9/11 attacks on WTC, USA andattacks on Taj Mahal Hotel, India

“We are destroying our humanity and becoming inhuman because of the cultureof violence that dominates every aspect of our life”

Arun Gandhi

Looking for a Solution…

The right question to ask is ourselves is whatwas it that happened that spawned a series ofterrorist act against human race

Most of the terrorists coming from poor andilliterate background and are an easy prey for

fundamentalists preachersYoung Jihadists are whipped into a frenzy andtaught to fight, giving rise to terrorism

Declaring war on terrorism is not the answer,one needs to do some introspection to find

out why they hate us so muchOne needs to find out why our relations withthe rest of the world are so bad that peopleare motivated to attack us

Culture of Violence

Created a Culture of Violence that permeates everyaspect of human life.The first seeds of violence are planted in the mindsof children when parents punish them for

misbehaviourPunishing people who do criminal acts. Instead ofreforming, most of the times they come outhardened criminals.
